Pet care experience

Hi there! My name is Matthew and I’m a lover of all pets small or big! Growing up I’ve had many pets, including a German Shepard, Pitbull, and mini poodle. I get attached to dogs very quickly and will do everything to make sure he/she has everything they need! What sets me apart from other sitters is my combination of experience and skills in caring for dogs. I have raised puppies and provided essential training to offer dedicated care for senior dogs and I have encountered a wide range of situations where I have become well-versed in catering to the specific requirements of dogs needs. I am additionally experienced in training dogs foundational commands (sit, down, follow, drop it, etc.) that I provide in my care giving strategy. In addition to my experience, I bring a genuine passion for fostering strong connections with dogs. I quickly establish a bond with them, ensuring they feel safe, loved, and comfortable in my care. Their well-being is my utmost priority. My professional background as an engineer allows me to bring a detail-oriented and organized approach to dog sitting. I am attentive to the small details that contribute to a dog's happiness and ensure they have a safe environment at all times. I am committed to going above and beyond to provide exceptional care tailored to you and your dog's needs!

Matt was so great with our little 4-month old, ball of energy puppy during a doggy daycare session. He was super easy to communicate with, able to accommodate a meet and greet on short notice, and sent tons of cute updates and photos throughout. It's clear that he has a lot of valuable experience caring for dogs and genuinely enjoys it! We will definitely be reaching out to Matt again for future needs.

Information Matthew K. would like to know about your pet

When I prepare to care for a dog, it is important to gather certain information ahead of time to provide the best possible care. Here are some key details I find important to know: 1. Medical and health information. 2. Behavioral traits and preferences. Understanding the dogs temperament, quirks, and preferences is essential. Please include their level of socialization with people and other dogs. 3. Daily routine and schedule. 4. Special care instructions. 5. Training needed or training being currently taught. This information gathered ahead of time, I can ensure that I can provide my own unique tailored experience and ensure that your dog is being cared for specifically to your vision and needs.

A typical day

A typical day spent with dogs I watch is filled with fun activities and engaging experiences to keep them happy, active, and entertained. I start the day by ensuring the dogs head out for a morning walk at a nearby park, trail, or dog-friendly neighborhood. This provides an opportunity for exercise, mental stimulation, and exploring new scents. Once home, I make sure the dogs have fresh water and are well-fed. Midday hours, we engage in various activities depending on the dog's energy levels. This includes play sessions with toys, interactive games, or even some basic training exercise to keep their minds sharp. If the weather permits, we spend some time in a secure outdoor area. allowing the dogs to roam, run, and enjoy some off-leash playtime. Afternoon and evening is a time to explore different outdoor environments. I like to take advantage of local parks and trails where dogs can stretch their legs and socialize (depending on the dog). In the evenings, I try to focus on winding down and create a calm cozy atmosphere. Before bedtime, we go for a final evening stroll to help the dogs wind down and take care of their last bathroom needs. Throughout the day, I prioritize interaction, affection, and personalized attention for each dog. I tailor activities based on their individual needs, whether is playing fetch, engaging in puzzle toys, or simply providing lots of belly rubs and cuddles. I aim to ensure the dogs in my care have an enjoyable and fulfilling day!
