I have helped raise a puppy, a stray, and a rescue all at different times. The stray we took in when we bought his previous owners home and they couldn't bring him with them. He had never been house trained and didn't trust humans. My family and I worked with him for several years while he grew more accustomed to living in the house and soon he became a full member of the family. The rescue came from a farm in Alabama and very much disliked young children as well as bicycles and scooters. Again we worked with him and showed him that there was nothing to be afraid of. On top of that dogs have always seemed to love me and warm up to me faster than others.
