Pet care experience
I grew up with every kind of pet you can think! After I graduated from Virginia Tech with my B.S. in Animal Science, I worked with donkeys as a medical supervisor, and now I’m a Veterinary Technician in Lynchburg ☺️. Another fun fact about me is that I’m a certified wildlife Rehabber, and volunteer at a center in Nelson County

Matt has extensive experience with animals of all types, from dogs and cats all the way to donkeys and exotic animals. There isn't an animal he can't care for, and with great skill. He's responsible and great with exotics as well. With him watching your pets you'll never have to worry because they're in great hands!
Matthew loves animals and cares for them wonderfully!! He has cared for my animals from house pets to farm animals and done a wonderful job with each and everyone of them. Very loving and responsible.
Matt is very knowledgeable with not only cats and dogs, but exotic animals and livestock as well. He has taken great care of my Guinea pigs and bearded dragon while we’ve been away on trips. My bearded dragon even climbed up his arm while he was meeting them the first time.

I will do what the owner knows is best for their pet! If they would like me to take them on long walks, or play time in the back yard, or just daily scratches I will do whatever is asked within reason. Because my career is in vet-med I will also keep a keen eye on if anything unusual comes up, and notify the parent immediately. Your pets happiness and well-being is my #1 concern!

I need to know the dogs general behavior so that I can approach them best! Also if there are certain ticks they have, I need to know that as well. I would also like to know a general weight range of your dog
A typical day
Besides going on walks around the neighborhood or owners property (depending on the size) I love going on trails in Lynchburg near the river or to the waterfall park! Playing fetch is always a blast (if your pet likes that) or if they just want cuddles and down time, I can do that too! Something that my dog used to enjoy was going on treasure hunt walks. I’d go and hide a treat for her, and then take her out to find it ☺️. This provides wonderful mental stimulation

Availability
I tend to work normal business hours, so I can fit in check-ins, walks, food/giving daily medication and playtime before and after work. I’m usually free on weekends for the majority of both days.
