Pet care experience
Hello! I am currently employed as a counselor for mentally ill and drug addicted adults in San Francisco. On occasion, a client will bring a support animal, typically a dog, to live in the facility where I work. The environment in the program is always palpably more calm, positive, and joyful, with the presence of a dog. I believe, as many others do, that the therapeutic importance of animals in our lives is immeasurable. I was raised with family dogs as a child, and my appreciation for what they do for us has only increased. I have dog sat for friends who appreciate my cleanliness, reliability, and enthusiasm. Matt took great care of my charming but highly-strung dog (Steve) a bunch of times. He covered all the basics (food, walks, judiciously-administered treats, updates) and more, becoming one of Steve's favorite people. Matt is a true dog-lover, a good person, and a very, very responsible sitter. If I hadn't moved out of the area, I would still absolutely rely on Matt's care and friendship for Steve. And I know for sure that Steve misses him!
Matt is the perfect person for dog-sitting and caregiving. I have known Matt for about 30 years. We grew up together and also lived together after college. He is a good friend. I know him well. He is a very reliable and stable person. The qualities required for pet caregiving - compassion, conscientiousness, and patience, to name a few - all come natural to Matt. He is also trustworthy, punctual, and ethical. I've seen him diligently care for several fish for years and would trust him with my pets without hesitation.
Matt's an extremely reliable and professional guy who loves animals. I would hire him to watch my dog and house-sit without hesitation. His career in social work requires a high amount of empathy and patience which makes him an ideal candidate for pets with special needs. Can also give you air guitar lessons if needed.
