Matthew grew up with dogs most all his life. I have seen how loving, patient, playful, and understanding he was with two of his dogs (all have passed on). He made it a point to be present, several years back, when one of his family's dogs had to be put down. Matthew was also very good to my parent's dogs (including a very big Alaskan Husky, named Major). My family didn't have much time to play with their dogs or take them for walks, but whenever we visited, Matthew spent time playing with and taking them for walks. Major was very boisterous and practically unmanageable during walks (because he was hardly taken out for walks and not trained), yet Matthew still took him on walks despite the challenges he faced. My family was very impressed, as they felt too intimidated to do it, due to Major's erratic behavior & size. They ended up having to re-home Major, but Matthew was trying to find a way to take him back to Singapore, where he was living at that time. Unfortunately, it was not feasible to do so, but Matthew was very saddened by Major's departure—perhaps more affected than my family was, despite knowing Major for a shorter period of time! Matthew has a natural gifting, appreciation, & love for dogs—for animals, in general. He would not only be a responsible dog caregiver, but I believe he will love and bond with the dogs that come his way, naturally!
