Vet Technician& Outdoor Enthusiast!

Pet care experience

Hello! My name is Matt and I have been caring for dogs and animals of all kind for as long as I can remember! My love started from walking dogs when I was 13 and led me to study Biology in college. I spent 5 years as a vet technician at a sea turtle hospital in Florida, and then moved home to New York where I currently work as a veterinary technician at a small animal hospital. I have spent 1 year working in animal shelters and have experience with all kinds of dogs and cats. I have two pet box turtles and also live with my family's dogs, Boomer and Ziggy! I believe every dog is special and find a true connection with every dog I meet.

We had a great experience with Matt. Timber was well cared for, exercised and even learned a new trick. Matt took good care of our house and gave us frequent updates. We will certainly be calling him again to look after Timber.

It was a quick overnight- but all seemed fine. I barely knew he was there- very neat! My Bosco is shy- but he seemed quite happy.

Super experienced with dogs. I came home to a very happy dog after Matthew's first visit while I was away for the day with a friend. Will use his services again very soon.

Information Matthew B. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know about how the dog reacts to new people or other dogs, so that I can prepare for entering the home and taking the dog outside. Does the dog have special requirements (medications, food allergies)? Any breed!

A typical day

The types of activities I would do with the dog would completely depend on the type of dog I am caring for, as well as the preferences of the owner. Big dogs or dogs with high energy I would love to take for a run around the neighborhood or a hike in one of any nearby parks or trails. I love to be active for my own personal exercise and I love to pair that with a dog that is also looking to get out pent up energy. My brother's (enormous) dog Boomer, whom I live with, I love to take swimming, hiking in the mountains, or out to play fetch. On the contrary if a dog is only looking for company on the couch or playing a small game of fetch in the house or the backyard, that's what we'll do! I love to work on training behaviors, and have learned so much from my time at animal shelters with dogs whom have had a tough background. I offer a free meet-up or phone consultation so that I can meet you and your pets and learn more about their health, behavior, and any other special needs. I send a daily email/text to update you on your pets' well-being while in my care. Hope to meet you soon!
