I didn’t understand the phrase “Every boy needs a dog” until I got one. It not only was a companion, but a sense of responsibility. Though all the same, every dog needs a boy. They need someone who can keep up with them if they want to run, run their belly when they’re lonely, and play fetch when they’re excited. I developed my love for dogs when my aunt moved in with my family and I met her dog Gazeebo. She was a small dog whom was scared of being abandoned. The first time my aunt left the house, she was shaking afraid. But as time went on, she learned to love me. We would play fetch (but she wouldn’t bring the stick back!) and she was sad when my aunt left, but she was ok with us being around. She wasn’t lonely.
