Senior Dogs Are Our Specialty!
Pet care experience
We only take one boarder at a time, to provide a quieter, calmer, and safer environment for your dog while away from their humans. Matt and our dog Bosco have been best friends for ten years, since they met while volunteering with the Humane Society. Together, they spent four years with a rescue organization performing home visits for foster and adoption placements. Matt grew up with dogs, cats, and guinea pigs and every one of them leaned into the vigorous neck scratches and baby talk. Sondra grew up on a horse farm, surrounded by dogs, cats, and other critters. She groomed dogs for 8 years and still bathes, trims, and gives pedicures to our dog and the occasional visiting four-legged. She enthusiastically plays with dogs on their terms and offers the warmest of snuggles. Our dog, a (neutered) 12 year-old retriever mix is playful, friendly, and curious, but also calm and easygoing. He has been a steady elder role model for other dogs in our family and social networks. Senior care is well within our wheelhouse, from oral medication to hot spot ointments, doggie diapers, and more. We're also happy to practice ongoing training if your pup is still learning.
Reviews
Matt and Sondra are always nice and accommodating to my older dog. My dog feels comfortable at their house.
This was our first time using Rover. Matt & Sondra were very gracious about guiding me through the process. The meeting before our stay was much appreciated, as I felt comfortable leaving Tucker in their care for over 2 weeks. They were honest to report that Tucker didn’t eat much, but they did their best to encourage him. He’s back to his old self at home now. Thank you Matt & Sondra!
Very welcoming, flexible, understandable, and knowledgeable. Took great care of our dog!
Staying with Matt and Sondra was a great fit for our family's dog Tilly. When we need to board her in the future, Matt and Sondra will be our first option. This is our first experience with Rover, and what a perfect option for animals who are members of the family.

Safety, trust & environment
We walk at least once per day and have tie-outs for shorter potty breaks and play. Animals have free roam of the house and we can provide separate indoor space or crate your dog, if needed. There is a basket full of toys and ample play space in the living room and spacious downstairs family room, plenty of comfortable surfaces to snooze on, and windows at eye level for all the bird, fox, and cat watching a pup could ever ask for.

Information Matt & Sondra T. would like to know about your pet
Let me know if your dog has any special needs; we are happy to accommodate. Please let me know about your dog's experience with other dogs and cats to help us ensure a smooth introduction. Please let us know if your dog has any food allergies (e.g., peanut butter, chicken). Please also let us know your dog's feeding schedule, including if they free feed. If your dog is a nervous eater, we are happy to hand-feed.
A typical day
We love to walk in our neighborhood, visit Holmes Lake, and explore the sights and smells. With owner approval, we also enjoy taking dogs to run in fully-fenced dog runs and parks. Tug ropes, bones, and squeaky toys are in plentiful supply at home.
