Hi! I’m MK and I love dogs and getting out in Colorado. I have 17 years of dog ownership/watching experience. Currently I don't own a dog since I do visit family in the Southeast frequently (and other fun places before COVID struck) and enjoy the flexibility to stay for longer periods. I do miss the experience of having a walking/hiking/snuggling buddy and would like to open my home to some visitors. This way I can (selfishly get some love) and help out those who also travel. FYI: I’m in a small and cozy 812 sq. ft. space but have strived to make a small place feel big. I’ve have never had a problem with big dogs in a smaller home but wanted to let you know I operate on a small footprint (but do have a fenced-in backyard! - see pics).

MK watched our Buddy for two weeks while we were away in Europe and she was amazing. It was clear our boy loved staying with her and was extremely comfortable and happy. She was communicative and sent multiple videos and photos of him having fun! MK will always be our go-to for pet sitting needs!

I have a fenced in backyard that is available for playtime and hanging out if I'm working from the backyard. I never leave dogs unattended while out back.

Let me know if your dog has any special needs or issues such as separation anxiety, a tendency to trash rummage, dart around people coming in/out the front door, or chew items that may get left on the floor (shoes, socks, etc.). I keep things clean and have a storm door, but will be extra careful in these cases. And let me know if your dog is not allowed on the bed or couch...otherwise I'll always invite them up to snuggle!
A typical day
I maintain a healthy and environmentally friendly lifestyle and love going for walks and hikes. If your dog enjoys hikes too, feel free to bring any hiking gear you might have for them (water carrier, special leashes, etc.) and I'd love to have them join. My neighbors have the sweetest black lab that LOVES playing with other dogs. If your dog is the same, I've had lots of doggie play dates in my backyard. Just an option if your dog is just as obsessed with other dogs! There is a dog park not far from my house if your dog would enjoy/prefer that. I also can't get enough snuggles if your dog just likes to relax or has restrictions on a lot of exercise. I'll accommodate to make sure your dog is happy!

I'm currently working from home as a result of COVID so frequent walk breaks and working in the backyard are part of my routine. I do volunteer at my neighborhood farmer's market on Sundays (through Oct. 10) from 6:30am - 1:30pm. It's very dog friendly and there is a tent I stay under with full shade, so if weather permits and your dog would enjoy hanging out and walking up and down the market with me, I'm happy to take them along!
