I would prefer to meet with the dog before our first walk or visit. Even though I am very experienced and gentle with animals, I am 6ft5 and some dogs may be scared at first, especially if I am coming into their home.
A typical day
I will use the loose leash walking method, which is a technique I was trained in this and used it for from years. This technique has the dog walking side by side instead of pulling you or trying to run. I also like to throw toys around the yard to give the dogs some exercise.

I work overnight so my afternoons and weekends are mostly free. I am looking to do about 20 hours of walking or drop ins per week.
