The most important aspect of pet care/sitting for me is to not disrupt the pets routine because having had pets from a very young age I understand that disruption to their routine can be very stressful and unhealthy. I strive to give any pet I am responsible for looking after that sense of calm and stress free care while their owners are away in their home environment where they are most comfortable. I have grown up with pets my whole life. My first pets were my cats Theo and Beethoven which my family got when I was in grade school and I learned early on how to feed and water them, keep them clean and change their litter. They lived to be 17 and 13 respectively. I also had the pleasure of being a proud parent of a little black pug named Stella which I had 14 wonderful years with. I fully understand the complexities of caring for a pug due to their need to maintain a healthy weight, breathing issues and their sensitivity to extreme hot or cold temps. I also have the pleasure of pet sitting for a friend of mine on a semi regular basis who has the most adorable pit bull and Labrador mix. This requires me to stay at my friends home for a week and up to two weeks when they travel out of country on vacation. I am also required to administer medicine in the form of pills and or liquid on their food due to one of them having allergies. In conclusion-Pets are members of the family and should be treated as such.
