Prospect Park is across the street!

Pet care experience

I've sat tiny to tremendous dogs and everything in between. Friends and family remark at my caring nature: a true dog whisperer. I and my dog Isla, a mother/sister to all canines, can't wait to take care of your fur friend, either with daily visits, house sitting, hosting at my house for days or overnights. We will provide a second haven for your dog while you're away. Seniors and special needs dogs are my specialty, as I've had these in my own home and know the skills to make their experience warm and comforting.

Matt was so accommodating with our dog who has extensive medical needs, including times medications throughout the day and a specific diet. We used Matt as our first Rover booking and he was awesome - sent us so many pictures, videos, and updates throughout our time away. His dog was very comforting to our dog and was a great companion! We so appreciate everything about Matt as a caregiver.

Matt was fantastic caring for my 12-year old lab for a few days in May. "Dalton" came home happy and pooped after many good walks in the park and getting to know Matt's pup. I appreciated the great pictures he sent, the good comunication during the stay and that he bothered to point out a possible health issue that he observed. It was a pleasure all around given Matt's flexibility and his friendly demeanor. I would not hesitate to board Dalton with him again.

Wonderful experience. Matt was helpful, prompt, and shared pictures of our pup enjoying herself in the park.

Dear Matt, thank you so much for taking care of Struppi! I think he misses you now...you are truly a great dog sitter and I loved all the photos you sent me.

Safety, trust & environment

I've taken considerable time in my life to study about and observe dog behavior. I can tell when a dog needs additional time, space and/or safety protocols to ensure that they have the best experience. Right now I am seeing a lot of dogs with acute separation anxiety due to spending so much time with their humans over the past year and a half. Isla and I can say confidently that we can be a trusted resource to your dog as they work through the separation from you.

Information Matt G. would like to know about your pet

I always meet new clients before a first booking. During this meeting I will observe the dog's interaction with myself and Isla, their leash skills, and their experience around toys and food. Other important tidbits are whether your dog eats at certain times or is a grazer, whether they are crate trained (I have a 42" crate in my apartment) and whether you want me to reinforce any tricks or behaviors that you've been working on with your dog.

A typical day

Prospect Park will be the source of all our outside endeavors, weather permitting. It's literally across the street from me. That means off-leash romps (if you'll allow) before 9am and after 9pm. Tell me what your dog likes to do outside (balls, frisbee, keep away) and I'll make sure to get that into our routine. I also have a private dog walking service, and if you'll allow, I'll take your pup on any or all of the pack walks I have scheduled during his/her stay!
