Pet care experience
Thanks so much for taking the time to check my profile! My name is Matt and I'm currently pursuing a master's in counselling where I plan on utilizing animal assisted therapy techniques as part of my future practice. I love both dogs and cats and have owned both throughout my lifetime, but am currently without a pet since our beloved dog passed away in May. I'm very active and as happy tossing a frisbee for a dog as I am curling up on the couch with a cat. I'm located in Olympic village and primarily work from home so am generally flexible with my schedule except on occasional school days. My girlfriend is also active on Rover and we can often share duties if my availability doesn't perfectly fit with your request. Please feel free to ask anymore questions you might have!

We booked boarding services with Matt and he was super friendly and professional throughout the entire process. He was very flexible with the drop-off/pick-up times and kept us up to date for each day Winston was with him. Matt even offered to work on some of Winston’s training areas of opportunity while we were away. Matt has a lot of experience working with dogs and so we knew Winston was in good hands. When we picked up our pup on the last day, he seemed like he had tons of fun! Will book again with Matt again in the future 100%! Thanks again.
Matt has the qualities you want in a pet sitter: Safety is foremost. He is incredibly fit and will protect your pet ( big or small) from other animals and/or distractions. Your pet will not be able to "escape" into oncoming traffic or be startled into running away. If your pet needs a workout, s/he will get it! Matt has taken pet therapy courses. He will be able to "read" your pet's needs. Not just the physical ones (I need water! I need to poo!), he will also be sensitive to that extra scratch behind the ears, or taking the time to listen to what s/he has to communicate. I love all types of dogs but despite what most people expect, I'm a sucker for little dogs. I particularly like the adorably cute funny looking breeds like pugs, Frenchies and such.
A typical day
As I live in Olympic village I am familiar with the local off leash areas including Hinge Park, Charleson Park and David Lam across the bridge. I love playing fetch with the frisbee or a ball or just being active. I like to do my studying outside so am happy to chill on a bench if your dog prefers more outdoors time!
