I have had 5 dogs since I was a child and have taken care of and loved each despite the wildly different personalities. I understand how an owner feels that a dog is not just an animal but a member of their family. If I was able to have a dog of my own (apartment restrictions), I would do so. I enjoy the companionship and love that a dog can give and there is nothing better than walking through the door and knowing that he/she is waiting happily.
