Experienced In-Home Pet Sitter
Pet care experience
My family has owned several dogs since I was a child and I have helped take care of them since I was about 12 years old. I also gained a good amount of experience working at the local SPCA for 2 summers, where I learned about proper dog walking, bathing, nutrition, and cleaning methods for both dogs and cats. I am also currently taking an online dog trainer certification program through Animal Behavior College and worked in a Veterinary Practices program as a Teaching Assistant for 1 year. I have been dog and cat sitting for family and friends for over 4 years and love animals of all kinds. I can care for rabbits, ferrets and guinea pigs as well! I look forward to meeting your pets and giving my clients peace of mind while they are away! :)

Matt did a great job taking care of our pets. He was great about communicating when one pet became sick. The house was left clean and everything was in its place.

Matt did a great job caring for our dogs and guinea pigs. He was not put off by our little rescue dog who can be unsure and a bit reactive. He sent updates and asked questions when needed. The house was left clean and everything in its place.

Matt was absolutely wonderful! The puppies were very well taken care of. Matt is very caring and responsible and when Polly was stressed with us being gone, Matt offered options to help her. Loved getting pictures of our babies every day. Will hire him again?

I meet with the owner(s) and pets prior to house sitting to ensure their animals and I are familiar with one another and I am informed of each pet's individual needs. I try to ensure dogs get a walk every day, unless they have alternative exercise needs. I try to make sure all animals have both breakfast and dinner, every day, and prioritize this. Potty breaks should be given every 4-6 hours at the most, again depending on the age, size and special needs of the dog. It is not possible for me to board dogs at this time. I've also found that dogs are more comfortable in their own homes. I can gladly send you pictures of the dogs and cats (if the cats aren't hiding) so you know they're doing okay (many clients have asked me to do this). Please discuss your pets' needs with me and leave care instructions in some format, either on notes that I take after meeting with you or in writing while you are away, preferably in advance.
Information Matt B. would like to know about your pet
Any medications your dog is taking (oral, topical, etc.). Special physical or behavioral health concerns, sensitivities, allergies etc. Please leave this information verbally and written for me to refer to. I can take notes during a meeting as well if needed.
A typical day
Walks of varying length and intensity, depending on the dog. For some clients that live close to the park I have been able to walk their dogs there :) small dogs can ride in my vehicle, with a safety harness. Please tell me about any special activities that your dog(s) enjoy(s).
