Experienced Dog Dad & Foster Parent

Pet care experience

I’ve loved dogs my whole life. I gained valuable experience in my time volunteering at a no-kill shelter, the APL (Animal Protection League) from 2010 until 2014. I began dog walking, and eventually took on all the responsibilities of caring for the dogs at the shelter: bathing, nail clipping, cleaning pens, and (after passing training), working with the rescues who were antisocial. During that time I also provided foster care to several dogs of varying ages, breeds and sizes. Currently, have 2 dogs of my own (3yrs and 11yrs). Both are avid dog park enthusiasts and are social w/ new puppy friends. I’ve received and passed training dealing w/ rowdy behavior and neglected dogs as well as working with dogs that have food, people, and/or pet aggression.

Matt was excellent with my high energy, anxiety driven, 20 month old lab. I am so happy to be able to bring my puppy to a caring home environment versus a regular doggie day care. This environment is better suited for my puppy and Matt shows so much care and concern.

We had rescued a dog with really bad anxiety and was extremely skiddish around other people. The ONLY person we could leave him with was Matt. Matt really understood how to handle Grover and his anxiety. He has a lot of experience with rescue dogs, and is a wonder dog dad.to his pups.

Matt rescued his first dog, Roxie, in 2011 and fell in love with dogs ever since. He is great with training them and making them feel loved in his home. He now has 2 dogs and they have plenty of space to play in his fenced in backyard. The dogs get along great with each other.

Information Matt B. would like to know about your pet

I’m glad to attend to any of your pup’s special dietary or behavioral needs. I have a breadth of experience working with animals that are high energy, have separation anxiety, and helping care for pups who are not well acclimated with people and / or pets.

A typical day

A typical day consists of a long dog walk (1.5mi) first thing in the morning for both my pups. Then breakfast, and a nap. While I work from home, my pups play in our yard. Dakota (3yr old Cattle Dog) likes to run and herd. Lola (11yr old Boston Terrier) likes to lounge and sunbathe. I will spend plenty of time acclimating your pups with mine to ensure they have a great day. Your dogs will love joining us in our daily walks, exercise, and yard games!
