I have a fenced small secure yard, but they have the run of the house and are allowed on the couch. I am always home with them. Overnight, they can sleep on my bed if they like.

We'll go for walks, play ball, if they are comfortable and want to go for a car ride, we can do that (My dog goes everywhere with me).
