Pet care experience
Caring for dogs is the main focus of my day. I have 2 of my own rescues and there is usually at least one foster dog in the house. Boarders up to 20 pounds are welcome to join the party. My love affair with dogs began in Seattle in 1990 when my neighbor moved out and left her dog behind. I took in the ancient German Shepherd and had his medical issues attended to by a vet. Rex stayed at my house until the end. Even before Rex passed away, I invested in 2 purebread Malinois Belgian Shepherds with the intention of training then for French Ring Competition. Neither one of then had the temperment for the ring so they were my pets for many years. When I moved to Florida in 2004, they stayed behind with a couple who lived in the woods and had 3 other Malinois. Here in Florida, I have been active in rescuing and fostering. My toy poodle, Skylar, was a foster that I nursed back to health from Heatworm Disease. Skylar became my forever girl and now at 10+ years old, despite her cataracts, she is active and happy. Percy is my terrier, whom I rescued when he was 4 months old. He is now 7 years old and is my "main man." I keep my house clean and free of odor. Your pet will be treated like one of the family. There is an unfenced yard behind my house where I supervise play time and potty breaks. My terrier, Percy, shows newcomers the ropes and plays the perfect host. He even shares his toys! I look forward to meeting you and your special pal.
