Crate-Trained Dogs Only
Very reliable and easy to communicate! She sent my cat’s pics everymorning, and I can see how much she genuinely loves animals :)
Mary Rachel was incredible! My kitty was happy and was extremely well tended to the entire time I was away. Mary Rachel is a prompt communicator and is very punctual. I enjoyed the frequent picture and text updates. I will definitely use her again if I need a sitter!
Thank you so much Mary Rachel!! It was such a relief to be able to go home for the holidays and know that Surfer was in excellent care. I loved all the pictures and updates :) You will be the first person I call next time I take another trip. Thank you again!!
About Mary Rachel
Active, stay-home-mom w/ huge yard
We are an active, animal-loving family with a huge backyard and currently no other pets (so yours would receive our full attention!).
I grew up with a Bichon Frise and a cat, and my husband grew up with animals of all varieties including Schnauzers, labs, large mixed-breed dogs, ferrets, and cats. As our own family, we have had a large dog and a cat. Our girls love to help take care of pets, and we ...
What Mary Rachel would like to know about your dog
Does your dog enjoy the dog park or any other specific activities? Do you walk your dog, and if so, how often? Any special feeding or medication instructions? Where does your pet sleep at night and stay in the house when you leave on an errand? Does your pet respond to commands? How does your pet interact with others? How does your pet let you know when he/she needs to go potty?
I am partial to Great Pyrenees, Danes, German Shepherd Dogs, and Snowshoe cats but truly love all kinds of dogs and cats. Technically our preferences are no animals on our bed; however, we tend to be pushovers when it comes to sweet, loving animals and have often fudged this rule! I also have my preferences set to crate-trained dogs only, but this "rule" also has some flexibility and generally is only necessary if your pet has a tendency to be a little too curious when you are out of the house :) and/or if I am keeping dogs from more than one family.
Please do not request dog boarding or doggie daycare if your dog(s) is/are not good with children, as our two little ones are often around. I am happy to come to you for housesitting or drop-in visits/walks. Please be honest up-front about your dog's training level, personality, and ability to get along with other humans and animals. I can give your pets the best care when I know what to expect.
I prefer to board only one family's pets at a time but will occasionally make exceptions. I will board a maximum of three total dogs from two families at a time. When boarding puppies, I keep only one at a time (same with animals who are not fixed and/or are in heat unless they are from the same family). I prefer to visit cats in their own home, as this is typically where they are most comfortable. When caring for cats, I expect to clean litter boxes, so please do not feel that you are asking too much when requesting this!
Inquire about rates if necessary; it can be a little confusing!
