HELLO THERE! I’M PLEASED TO MEET YOU! LET’S GET ACQUAINTED. ..MY NAME IS "MARY". AS A CHILD WHO ADORED ANIMALS, I BROUGHT HOME EVERY STRAY I FOUND IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD! I DID MY BEST TO FIND THEIR HOME AND RETURN THEM TO THE OWNER WHENEVER POSSIBLE. NEEDLESS TO SAY, MY HEART WAS ALWAYS BIGGER THAN THE FAMILY BUDGET, YET I TRIED TO FEED AND CARE FOR AS MANY STRAYS AS MOM WOULD ALLOW. ONCE A PARENT MYSELF, I THOUGHT HOW WONDERFUL IT WOULD BE TO OPEN MY OWN PET-SITTING BUSINESS AND ALLOW MY CHILDREN TO GROW UP RESPECTING ANIMALS, LEARNING RESPONSIBILITY AND THE VALUE OF WORKING FOR THEMSELVES AT AN EARLY AGE. “PALS AND PALACES” WAS BORN OF THIS IDEA. FOR 12 YEARS WE WORKED TOGETHER AS A TEAM. SINCE WE WERE AN AIR FORCE FAMILY, WE STARTED IN SPOKANE, WASHINGTON AND ENDED UP IN SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS. THE BUSINESS THRIVED, THE CHILDREN GREW AND IN TIME WE RETURNED HOME TO SAN DIEGO. I WAS CLEARED TO WORK ON THE LOCAL AIR FORCE BASES AND WAS RECOMMENDED BY THE VETERINARIANS IN MY AREA. I HAVE CARED FOR EVERYTHING FROM FARM ANIMALS TO REPTILES. IN THE YEARS BETWEEN, I EARNED A DEGREE IN LIBRARY SCIENCE. I AM A CERTIFIED HERBALIST/IRIDOLOGIST AND WRITE CHILDREN’S POETRY AS A HOBBY. Mary watches our dog about 4-5 per month. We are very particular about who is in contact with our Dici let alone who pet sits him. Mary is very thorough by leaving notes of observations during her visits. For the very reasonable cost of having her watch Dici she is a bargain. By having Pals and Palaces (Mary) visit it also gives a layer of security to have someone coming to the house during our absence. She will also bring in small packages left by delivery services which is great! Mary is very mindful, making sure all is as it should be at our home while were away. She texts pictures of Dici which is an added bonus. It also gives us peace of mind. Dici has come to love Mary as his surrogate mom and he is calm and rested when we return. We highly recommend Pals and Palaces as quite possibly the best pet care company in the universe!
I'm taking great pleasure in writing this rave review about Mary Rivera's Pals and Palaces pet sitting service. We have been utilizing Ms Rivera's loving nurturing pet care for many years. Our 2 yr old + Frenchie loves her like a sweet young grand ma! What makes Mary special is her attention to detail with regard to our Zsa Zsa's needs. First, she has a very natural & calming approach to caring for animals. Mary is also very detailed with regard to diet, scheduled visits, activities, and training regiment. It's as if Ms Rivera is a family member caring for our Zsa Zsa when we're away, which unfortunately can be a few times per month. We began booking Pals and Palaces in 2012 for our cat Piddy Poddo. She helped care for him until he passed in 2015. Her service has become a vital part of our family and family business. We travel at ease knowing Zsa Zsa is at home being loved and cared for by Mary. Two paws up for reliability, four paws up for loving nurturing! Paws down, best pet sitter on the planet! Book her!
I have known Mary Rivera many years, during which time I have witnessed her caring, loving care of various pets and animals. She is my choice for taking care of my precious pet, whenever I am in need of a pet sitter. I have always made a visit to the home first, prior to any pet-sitting/walking duties as this gives the animal a chance to meet me. When the animal sees me in the home with the owner, it understands that it's ok for me to be there. So the next time that door opens and it's me instead of their owner, they are comfortable with that and not worried.
A typical day
We will go wherever the owner feels is most safe and enjoyable for their pets. Maybe it's a local dog park or maybe it's simply around the block. I would like the owner to be the judge here as far as to "Where" to walk their dog. Playtime is always creative and I like to do the things that the dog enjoys as they are all different! We have a French Bulldog that plays soccer! She will actually retrieve and kick the ball back to you, chase it, block it, etc. So each dog plays in the way they enjoy most. I am the type of sitter that pays attention to what the owner already has in place for their animals. That way the dog stays familiar with it's routines and that's important for the animal to feel secure in the absence of the owner. However, if they would like to try new things, well I'm all about that too!
