Ready for a W.A.L.K?

Pet care experience

I've taken care of animals since I was a kid. I was a member in 4H chicken club, have had three dogs, as well as three cats of my own both indoor and outdoor. I have also taken care of friends and neighbors dogs which have included staying over, walking, supplying inhalers, oral meds, and of course, playing with them. I am a recent graduate from Penn State University but in the past I have worked as a pet care specialist at PetValu in Doylestown as well as interned as a Zookeeper at a local zoo. These opportunities have given me loads of experience in pet care including putting diets together, enrichment, and reading body language. I live with my mother and my dog Isla, a 1 year old 45 lb mixed breed. Isla is a high energy pup so I am used to long walks, high energy playtime, and the general higher level of care that comes with owning a younger dog. On the other hand, I have had to care for my 10 lb family dog at 13 years old so I am experienced in senior dog care as well. I view my pets as members of my family and understand leaving them in the care of someone else can be daunting. I promise that I will treat your pet as my own in every way to keep them safe, fed, and happy. I can't wait to meet the furriest member of your family!

Mary is wonderful! I have two rescue beagles that couldn't be more different from one another. Kimber is high energy and wants to explore all day, Cora is anxious and nervous, especially around new people. At our very first meet & greet Mary had both pups chasing stuffies and playing on the floor... even Cora! From day one I knew they were in good hands. Highly recommend!

I know Mary both professionally and personally, and she is a very kind and driven individual. She provides great customer service and is always happy to help accommodate or solve problems. When my dog is in her care I have complete faith that he is being well taken care of and is having a wonderful time. I would recommend her 100% of the time and fully trust her character.

Mary is, singularly, the most trustworthy and loving pet caregiver I have ever met. I have personally witnessed her in all manner of caregiving situations - from the more precious and patient moments of rescuing lost animals and reuniting them with their families and even diligently pulling over to escort frogs across the road in warm and rainy seasons, to the heartbreak of rushing to give care to the local stray cat after suffering a broken leg and ultimately sitting with him in his final moments. She is the only person I know who drives around with an "emergency dog leash" and treats in her car, just in case she meets any creatures in distress (which she frequently does). If you're looking for a trustworthy caretaker for your furry friend, look no farther. Mary will love your creatures as her own.

I have a 10x10 fenced in area on my property however I have an acre of property that boarders a farming field and a wooded area. I also live 1 mile away from a local park so I often walk my dog to the park, or drive and walk around the trails there if the roads are busy. I know about many parks and trails in the area so I can take your pups to a variety of locations to get them great exposure to different environments! I am very experienced in having to come up with creative ways to get pups in their crates when they aren't quite ready to go in yet but would love to keep the consistency of whatever you do to encourage crate time, playtime, and anything in between!

A typical day

I love to go exploring different local parks and different directions in the neighborhood to stimulate your pup. This exposure in new areas is a great time to practice some behavior skills as well as play in a new location to change up the routine a little.

I recently graduated in December 2024 and am living at home before my fulltime job starts so I have plenty of time for your pets! I do have my own dog that I exercise everyday and walk for 30 min minimum in good weather but in general I'm available Mon-Fri after 10am, Saturdays after 11, and anytime Sundays. I am available for overnights at your home and can offer boarding at my home so long as our dogs get along well with one another in a meetup ahead of time!
