Mary Lou was great with my little guy! She takes into account age, special circumstances, and usual routine to try to take the best care of the dog she has with her. My senior dog has settled into a routine for her daycare and even cries to get out of the car when we pull up in her driveway!
We have been very happy with Mary Lou and her care of our dog. Pepper just loves her and Mary Lou has been kind to all of us. Pepper loves being there and we feel grateful to have found a good place for Pepper to run, play, and socialize with other dogs.
I foster for the Tacoma humane society. I foster failed with Simon. He has never been watched by anyone before. Before we had him you could tell human hands had not been kind to him. He has a hard time trusting (especially men). So we were a bit worried on how it would go. Our other dog is usually watched by neighbors. Hes very laid back and easy. We decided to have them be watched together so Simon would have an easier time having Bru with him. I have to say Mary Lou was wonderful with both! She sent pictures and video to us while we we away which put us at ease. So happy to have found her. I would use her services again. I would also recommend her to anyone who needs to have their fur babies taken care of. Shes a gem!
I am canceling my weekly doggy daycare reservation because unfortunately I don’t trust Mary. I suspect that she has been keeping my puppy in an outdoor dog kennel, despite assuring me that she was not. I have been taking my seven month old springer puppy there for quite a few weeks. When I drop her off, Mary meets me outside and takes the puppy immediately to the backyard, where she lets her resident dogs out of their outdoor kennels. When I pick the puppy up, she is waiting with her in the backyard. I’ve never seen my dog go inside of her home. I always notice that the puppy smells strongly of dog smell, making me wonder if she was being kept in a crate or kennel. My gut was telling me she was being kenneled at least part of the day. Recently, when I picked my dog up, she was in the outdoor kennel. Mary was in the backyard barbecuing with a family member and so I tried to assume good intent, and hope that this was only occurring while Mary was present in the backyard with her. My gut was still telling me something was amiss though. The next time I dropped her off it was a very frosty morning and I asked Mary expressly if she was keeping her in the outdoor kennel. Mary told me that she was not. Today, I left work early and arrived at Mary’s house at an unusual time to pick up my dogs. (Joined by my older dog on this day). Mary was in her home when I arrived, and both of my dogs, as well as about six other dogs were in the outdoor kennel in the backyard. Having asked her directly if my dog was being kept in that outdoor kennel and having her tell me no, and then arriving unexpectedly to find her in the outdoor kennel on two occasions, I don’t trust her anymore. I can’t say for certain that my dog was spending all of her doggy daycare time in an outdoor kennel but I know that Mary was not truthful with me and I made it clear that I don’t want my seven month old puppy in an outdoor kennel in cold weather or any weather actually. I can crate my dog in my own home in the warmth and I don’t have to pay $45 a day for that. I was definitely not happy to see my seven month old puppy and my 12 year old senior with a bunch of dogs in an outdoor dog kennel while she’s warm in her house. Not what I’m paying for and I absolutely do not trust her anymore. But my gut was already telling me that. Should’ve listened.
