I’m my dogs’ chief of staff.

Pet care experience

***PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR DOG RECEIVES BORDATELLA & CANINE INFLUENZA VACCINES ANNUALLY.*** Why am I a Rover sitter? I love dogs, and hosting guest dogs gives my dogs great interaction and socialization. I donate 100% of funds received to the Mary Parrish Center for Domestic Violence & to the Davidson County Veterans’ Court Foundation. Dogs have always been a part of my family and are an important part of my life. Its my job to keep my dogs and their guest dogs happy, healthy, and engaged (and to spoil them like I’m their grandmother). The greatest compliment to a dog parent is a happy, smiling baby. I’m a believer in maintaining as close to the routine that you have at home as possible while they’re guests in my home. I believe that exercise and engagement help a guest dog adjust to their new surroundings. I love taking photos and videos to keep my pets and their parents connected. I do not believe in spanking or other forms of punishment. Instead, its critical to catch a dog “in the good” and to reward the good behavior. I keep my dogs up-to-date on vaccinations & expect the same of the guest dogs. ***PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR DOG RECEIVES BORDATELLA & CANINE INFLUENZA VACCINES ANNUALLY.***

Mary is a blessing beyond words! Ruby adores her and it makes me so happy that my girl is excited to go to her sitter’s house rather than see her afraid, as she always was, when I had to take her to a boarding facility. I’m so thankful for Mary and her love for pups🤍

Can't I add stars? For me and my dog, Mary is the ONLY choice. And I hate to be repetitious, but she is warm, caring, devoted, and . . . there aren't adequate words. Rest assured, your dog is safe and happy on her watch!!

Mary was outstanding! Our Ozzie stayed with her for a month during the holiday season. She sent pictures and videos frequently. Ozzie was always being stimulated. It was like a vacation for him. Thank you Mary for giving Ozzie a home away from home!

I try to keep the guest dogs on as consistent a schedule as they're accustomed to. That way, when they return home, they won't have picked up bad habits or have been thrown off-schedule. My dogs eat twice/day (Breakfast is typically between 6 - 6:30a, and dinner is typically between 5 - 5:30p.)

Information Mary L. would like to know about your pet

I don’t believe in breed discrimination. I do want a dog that is comfortable around me, my very sweet & playful English Pointer & my goofy Redtick Coonhound. I typically have 1 - 2 foster dogs at any given time. All dogs are UTD on vaccinations and I expect yours to be as well. ***PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR DOG RECEIVES BORDATELLA & CANINE INFLUENZA VACCINES AT LEAST ANNUALLY.***

A typical day

My property line rests on the Corps of Engineers land and Percy Priest Lake is less than 50 yards from my house. I take my very active English Pointer & Redtick Coonhound for long walks at least 2x/day and to Two Rivers Dog Park at least 5 days/week.
