Pet care experience
I’ve had dogs my entire life and currently have my own toothless cat! I’ve been walking dogs on Rover for over a year now. I love dogs and walking, so what better way to do both than this! I’m used to working with dogs who are not wonderful on the leash and have trained my own dog to be better while on walks. I’m responsible for picking up after dogs on walks. I love to take my own dog to the dog park and am always aware of my surroundings, especially while taking care of someone else’s dog. As love cats just as much as I love dogs! I have my own cat who actually doesn’t have teeth, so I’m used to working with cats that might need a little more specialized care. Even the skittish cats will come out and say hi to me!

Mary Kate was a wonderful sitter for our cat Marge. Marge can be very shy with new people and tends to hide when nervous, but she came out of her shell with Mary Kate, who played with her every day and sent tons of photos. This really put our minds at ease while we were out of town. Mary Kate also kept an eye on our apartment, brought in our mail, and watered the plants. We couldn't have been happier and we'll definitely rebook with her next time we're away.
We love having Mary Kate over to check in on our two cats!

During a visit you can expect your pet to be cared for just like my own. On a dog walk, depending on the ability of the dog and length of the visit, I try to walk at least a mile and let them sniff around! I think mental stimulation is super important for all animals. For cats, they usually don’t care as much when I show up 😂 but for the ones who want to play, I try to play with them for the majority of the visit. My own cat gets feed twice a day with fresh food and water and is brushed at least once a day. She has regular check ups for her nails and overall health. My dog is taken out several times a day for at least 20 minutes so he can romp around and have some fun. I do not offer in home services for others peoples pets.

I like to know how your dog is on the leash and if they are reactive to anything, like cars, critters, or other dogs. I always cross the road away from other people and dogs while I’m walking someone’s dog, just out of an abundance of caution. I also like to know if they know any commands, have any routines that they need to keep, or if they have anything special that they need done during a walk.
A typical day
I usually try to walk a dog about a mile or more, depending on the length of the visit and what the dog is comfortable with! I try to let them sniff and see some new sights, all while maintaining control over the dog and in “heel” if they know that command. I love to take dogs to green areas, especially if there’s a park close by!

Availability
I work Tuesday - Friday and always make time to care for my own cat before and after work. I’m looking to book either after 5 o’clock or any time from Saturday - Monday, but I’m super flexible with times! I’m also available for late night visits for anyone that works a night shift!
