Pet care experience
I am an animal trainer for film and television and have worked with many types of animals since I was a child. I have a bachelor’s degree in Biology as well as an associate’s degree in Exotic Animal Training and Management. I am from South Carolina originally and have recently moved back to the southeast after a 12 year stint in California. Before my current career, I was a veterinary technician in an emergency clinic. Due to my past experience, I have vast husbandry and veterinary knowledge of many animal species. A full resume is available upon request. I am currently offering in-home dog boarding as well as board-and-train and dog daycare options when I am not otherwise working on a studio project.

We love Mary Kate! Our dog walks right into her house without looking back at us when we drop him off. Honestly, if she was unavailable we’d change our plans to a date she could take him. It’s the most comfortable we’ve ever been leaving our dog.
This was our first of 2 stays and was only 1 night but Augie had a great time and Mary Kate was wonderful. His tail was up when we dropped him off, he went right in, and Mary Kate even accommodated our early morning drop off. If she ran for pet sitter of the year, I'd vote for her. :-)
This is the first time we've boarded our 8 year old lab since he was a puppy. Our son has always come to stay with him so to say we were apprehensive is a bit of an understatement. However, from our first visit to Mary Kate's property, we loved her and so did Augie. His tail was up from the moment we got out of the car. He roamed around the property and then she took us inside. Both Augie and we were very comfortable. She messaged us with pictures while we were away and he was happy but not frantic when we returned. We went out of town 2 days after we left him the first time and when we took him back over, he walked right in with no problem. I am completely happy with Mary Kate and would recommend her with no hesitation.
Hank had a great weekend - I know exploring this beautiful property was a dream come true for him! We loved that we got plenty of updates including pictures and videos. Highly recommend!

I have an 8 acre property that is fully dog fenced and secure. Social dogs can be mixed into play groups. For safety, dogs will be crated or otherwise secured to a bedroom, etc. at night and/or when I need to run out for errands.

A typical day
I have 8 acres of space for dogs to roam and play. Dogs are fed twice a day and given as many potty breaks as needed. Playtime and exercise time outside is given to every dog individually or socially depending on the preference of dog and owner.

Animal care and training is my only job and what my life has revolved around since I first took up riding horses at 5 years old. My daily schedule solely revolves around proper husbandry and care of my animals and the animals I train and care for.
