Pet care experience

I’ve had dogs since I was born, training and caring for them through childhood and into adulthood! I just graduated from a master’s program and I’m providing dog care as a meaningful work during my employment search. I’m happy to take your pup on runs, walks through the forest, trips to the dog park, or practice socializing downtown. Happy to take special requests as well as send you pictures of your dog enjoying their time with me! I love big dogs and small dogs alike, elderly and young. I have an incredibly friendly and playful Blue Heeler as well, and I’m happy to socialize them together if that is desired! Also happy to keep them apart if yours does not play well with others :)

Rarely have I met a person as well-equipped to the task of animal caregiving as Mary. My husband and I have two dogs, Sandy and Dandy (I know), one of which (Sandy) is particularly fussy and difficult to handle, not to mention having his fair share of health issues in old age. My husband and I travel regularly for work and Mary has always been our go-to dog sitter when we are out of town. Not everyone has the wherewithal to handle a grumpy old hound and a 1-year-old puppy, but our needy dogs have always been exceptionally well cared for in Mary's capable hands. As a marine biologist, my husband and I have dedicated our lives to the wellbeing of our sweet animal friends, so I mean it when I say we have high standards for human-animal partnerships. We are all part of the cycle of life, human or dog or anybody else. We all deserve a chance to reach for our dreams, however small, and we all deserve someone like Mary. Okay, I'm getting a little carried away here!! Suffice to say, Mary is excellent. She is currently raising a Blue Heeler of her own to great effect; a sweeter pup you are not likely to find.

When we both lived in Seattle, Mary was my go-to whenever I needed a dog sitter for my Tibetan Terrier, Mack. He's a high energy pup with a lot of needs, and Mary was able to meet them all! I was concerned about leaving my baby with her, but she always made me feel at ease with her dependability, good communication, and habit of sharing photos and stories at the end of the stay. I was especially impressed with her attention to detail: asking questions about Mack's daily schedule, walking routine, treats and food, playtime expectations, and likes/dislikes. Best of all, Mack loved her! He always got excited when she knocked on the door, an excitement that she mirrored (while also mindfully using behavioral commands that Mack was used to). We both miss her very much!
