I assisted in the care of our family dogs since I was able. As an adult, I again had small dogs as soon as I was able to afford to care for one. Family and friends have had me look after their dogs when they go away.

Mary looked after my dog from puppy till he died at 8. She was the go to person when I went on vacations or just a day away. He was a happy camper with her. She would do extra things like give him a bath when he decided rolling in deer feces was the way to go.

I work full time but am home except for 4 hours on Wednesdays. I go to work for 2 hours come home to walk, feed and potty the pets and return to work for an additional 2 hours. I have a 7 pound Maltese who loves to play with other dogs and even the neighbors cat.
