I have been caring for pets ever since I was 7 years old when my family brought home a black lab puppy. I still remember that day so clearly and how excited we all were to bring in a new family member to our lives. Everyday, I looked forward to my share of the responsibilities for Todd, whether it was grooming him, giving him his dinner or taking him out for a neighborhood afternoon stroll. My family was very lucky to have Todd in our lives for 13 years. He taught me so much as we were both growing up, especially about the values of mutual respect and patience. During the later years of Todd's life, my brother brought in a black cat. No one thought the two would ever get along, but then before we knew it, they were grooming each other and respecting each other's spaces. Since moving out of my parents' house, I have taken care of friend's pets of all kinds from guinea pigs to dogs. I never push myself upon any animal because I think it's extremely important to gain trust by letting them check me out before letting me pet them. I love all animals so much. In my experience of pet sitting, I pet them lots, brush them, feed them, change their water, walk them plenty, give them meds (as needed), and of course play with them and send plenty of pictures to the pet owner! I also love being outside :)
