Trusted, Responsible, Loving Care
Pet care experience
I have been boarding and dog walking for the past 5-years, mostly for neighbors back home when I lived in Maryland. We just moved into Gowensville | Landrum | Travelers Rest area -and we are very remote on 6 acres on Glassy mountain. We are joining Rover, hoping to help us make new furry friends. Our clients had deep trust in us, and we never let anyone down. Each client became a consistent client, mainly because their dogs would get so excited to see us or come to our home. We had one client that used to text and ask if Penny could come to the spa! We work hard to understand your pup, their regular schedule and favorite things to do, so we can maintain as much consistency as possible for our new furry friend. My husband is an excellent trainer, he has taught many of our client's pups to walk nicely on a leash, to heal, whoa, lets go, and ready up! My husband used to show train and show our great pyrenees for many many years. We both regularly get down on the ground and have play time with our boarders. I love taking pics of the pups and sending them off to their parents, so they have visual peace of mind seeing how happy their furry family member is doing. We will provide a short report via text each day. When dogs come to stay, we keep them on what is their normal schedule. Each day has 2 play times, a nice 30 min walk, 1-1 attention in their bed room prior to bed filled with lots of love (I love giving head rubs and reading stories). We will feed | Medicines | Relief time as per your instruction. We are at our best with friendly, non aggressive dogs. For dog walking, I will go to your home or office pick-up your dog, then head out. I can walk your pup, and | or have play time with your pet in your yard. If your friend needs lots of exercise I am very happy to take your pup on a hike of the distance of your choice for a longer visit.
Reviews
Mary Ellen took such great care of our two this week. They both have sone issues and she was great at getting to know them and meeting their individual needs. She gave us daily reports too (including photos). We could relax on our vacation knowing they were in good hands!
Mary Ellen is one of the biggest animal lovers I know! She is an extraordinary pet caretaker and advocate! The care she gives to fur babies is phenominal, and she treats your babies as if they were her own. Mary Ellen is the pet sitter for picky pet parents, because her level of care is the same as the pet parents would do. She is loving, kind, responsible and professional. She's the best!!

Our home is pet friendly, with lots of space and the opportunity to keep fury friends separate when needed. Each boarded dog will have their own bedroom, where they will also be fed privately (don't forget to bring your pup's food (provide feeding schedule), feed bowls, medicine (include directions), any toys, and feel free to bring their favorite bed). The dogs are also allowed on the bed in their room. We have a large basement gym area where we create play time when the weather isn't cooperating.

Information Mary Ellen B. would like to know about your pet
It's important to know if your pet has any medications and we get clear directions on dosage, timing, and any habits or tricks you use help the administration be easy on your pup. If your dog has any allergies, fears, eating, exercising or any behavioral challenges its helpful if you can set our expectations with clarity so we can provide the ultimate care for your pooch! If your dog has not been neutered it's important to let us know. If your dog has not been neutered, please let us know last heat, and when the next is expected. Our dogs are both neutered but we could have an other dog that has not been neutered so we will need schedules adjusted properly.
A typical day
We will follow your feeding routine, and your dog will be fed in their own bedroom. After am feeding (7:00 am)) we have outside time (if raining we have playtime in basement). At 11:00 we have walk time and or play time. We go out again at 3:00 for potty and fun (if raining we have playtime in basement). After dinner (6:00 pm) we have potty time, then relaxation in private rooms. We have "last call" at 8:00-9:00 pm, then in rolling cadence we have story, snuggle and put to bed time. If there are special requests, we happy to service!.

Availability
We are active, but retired. We have lots of flexibility. Boarding can happen any day/night you can drop off and pick-up at a time that works for you. The more notice you provide, the better I can plan around your pup's needs. I generally hike 4-6 miles 4 days a week. So if your friend wants to join me they are welcome to...weather dependent.
