I am the Executive Director of a charity in the Southeast Michigan area, and I have had the pleasure to work with Mary Costa for 3 years now. It was clear from the beginning and has been solidified since then that Mary is an individual of integrity, compassion, and dedication. Integrity- With no selfish motivations or personal attributes to gain, Mary gave hundreds of volunteer hours for my charity at a time when we were just getting started. Integrity is how you act when no one is watching, and Mary showed me that despite no one watching anything about what my charity was doing, she was willing to help the cause. This is important because a dog owner doesn't always get to see how their dog is being treated, but they could breathe easy knowing that Mary was taking care of him/her. Compassion- Since meeting Mary, I have seen her interactions with the children and adults she serves in her job as well as the youth my charity serves. She is amazing at feeling the emotions someone else is feeling and it outstanding at cheering someone up. I have no doubt she would extend this compassion to any lucky dog she takes care of. Dedication- I have seen Mary declare goals and go after them in relentless pursuit. I have seen her be loyal to causes and people through the tougher times, and I know she would not only be able to face anything crazy thrown at her in this position, but never leave a client's pet in anything but a remarkable situation and mood.
