Devoted Caretaker

Pet care experience

Animals, of all kinds, have enchanted me since I was a little girl, and pets have been especially important to me throughout my entire life. I have experience caring for many types of animals of my own, including dogs, cats, chicks/chickens, goats, and a beloved rabbit. I've done extensive research on the unique needs these animals require to stay healthy and happy. And I have lots of practice, too! I've cared for pets of family members, friends, and neighbors, beginning in childhood. The trust I'm given is a gift I don't take for granted. Additionally, I've fostered many dogs/puppies and cats/kittens. I have experience caring for dogs and cats in all life stages, from bottle baby kittens to senior dogs. Circumstantially, the dedication required in keeping exotic pets and livestock has given me knowledge, skills, insight, and confidence that has strengthened my caregiving ability for dogs and cats.

Safety, trust & environment

I value and genuinely enjoy listening to and learning from others, so I begin to get to know pets through their people. This gives me an introduction to your pet's one of a kind personality and the needs of your family. I appreciate written details that are especially important to you and your family. Things like your pet's favorite activities, toys, etc., specific routines (if applicable), or anything that will ease concerns you might have about being away from home. Having a solid foundation helps me provide the best care possible for pets and their people. I engage pets with play and physical activity as well as mental stimulation. Animals capture my attention moreso than most anything else. I watch pets diligently and carefully observe them for signs of distress or illness. One of my strengths is comforting animals in need. I'm thoroughly competent in administering first aid to many kinds of animals and certified through the American Red Cross for Cat & Dog First Aid. Priority will be given to communicating with you any concerns I have regarding your pet's well-being. I'm also happy to communicate with you as much as you prefer while you're away to keep you in touch with your pet.

Information Mary B. would like to know about your pet

As I'm begining to get to know your family it's helpful for me to have written details that are important to you. It doesn't have to be a lot, just what's most important to you and your pet. I've also petsit for people who have specific routines for their pets and that's no problem for me.

A typical day

Your pet's favorite activities will be my priority. I love spending time outside, so if your pet does too we'll definitely be spending a lot of time enjoying sunshine and fresh air. I have experience with high energy dogs and will provide them with lots of opportunities to play and exercise. I also have experience with senior pets and others who aren't able to endure so much physical activity. We'll do as much as you and your pet are comfortable with. We'll absolutely still spend lots of time outside together if your pet enjoys being outside. If your pet prefers being indoors that's were we'll spend most of our time, playing and interacting as your pet likes.
