Professional, Ethical, and On Time!

Pet care experience

I am a recent college graduate with 7 years of experience house sitting and dog sitting. I have 5 years of experience in basic canine obedience training and 1 year of experience as a veterinary assistant. I enjoy caring for dogs with special needs and have a special love and appreciation for senior dogs. I am able to administer medications and prepare specialty diets. I have worked with dogs: - In all stages of life, from puppies (8 weeks) to seniors (17 years old) - Small to large dogs, 5lbs to 80lbs - Ranging from pedigreed pure breeds to wonderfully unique mixed breeds. From Chihuahuas, Schipperke, and Schnauzers to Vizslas, Weimaraners and German Shorthaired Pointers

Mary Ann was amazing! She came for a meet and greet before booking and was very thorough. She sent pictures and updates frequently. I knew my Chuck was in great hands. Will definitely be using her again ♥️

I do not care for your pets in my own home. I provide walks, potty breaks, play time, daytime care, and overnight stays in my clients home. Before booking new clients, I do require a meet and greet. Meet and greets can be scheduled free of charge and at your convenience. This helps me get to know your and your pets and will also help you to determine whether I am the right pet care professional for you. I take client confidentiality, privacy and safety extremely seriously. I never share or post personal information about my clients, their animals, or their homes on social media ,through text, or any other means. Your home and your loved ones will have the benefits of privacy and security when you book me for pet care. Upon request, I can provide updates (pictures, videos, phone calls, and/or video calls) while I am caring for your pets. Photos and videos will only be taken upon client request and with permission. I am detail oriented and take pride in the high quality pet care that I provide. I write care summaries for my clients on each and every visit that detail the following: time of arrival, nature of the activities/services provided, time of departure, and anything else that is requested of me to write down. I believe that consistency in care is key, so I make every effort to match the routine and care styles that you provide for your pets. I follow all rules and preferences that you set for your pet(s) and your home.

Information Mary Ann S. would like to know about your pet

The more information I know, the better I can customize the experience for your pets. I typically ask the following: - Age, Weight/size, and Physical health status of your pet - Behavioral status (anxious, excitable, reactive, shy, etc) - Food sensitivities, allergies, dietary restrictions I have experience working with reactive dogs, high energy dogs, anxious dogs, shy dogs, and under socialized dogs. If your dog is fearful of new people or certain sights, sounds, or smells, knowing these things ahead of time gives me the ability to plan ahead (e.g. give extra space during first meeting, making extra time for introductions, avoiding scary triggers like the doorbell, lawnmower etc). I have worked with dogs that have severe dietary restrictions and allergies, so I understand the importance of keeping meals/treats/snacks consistent. To ensure the health and safety of your pet, I will only give food/treats as instructed.

A typical day

I believe there is no such thing as a typical day because every day and every dog is unique! I generally customize the experience by taking into account the following information: - Allotted time and type of service booked - Age/Health/Fitness - Likes/dislikes, and fears/triggers - Weather and Seasonal conditions (for outdoor activities) Upon request, I can take your pet on an adventure outside of the home while I am caring for them. Otherwise, all activities will take place in your home and backyard/neighborhood. Examples of activities include but aren't limited to: playing with toys, doing scent work/enrichment activities, relaxation time, cuddling inside, receiving love and affection (belly rubs, gentle pets), giving treats/feeding meals, listening to music, watching doggy-TV, running, hiking, going for walks, and supervised nap time. The possibilities are endless! I can also adhere to pre-existing training plans if your pet is already enrolled or recently graduated from training. On a case-by-case basis, I can also provide basic training (come, sit, stay, lay down, heel, leave it, drop it, look at me, etc) upon request.
