Professional qualified carer/behaviourist
Pet care experience
I had fostered dogs with any condition from "Battersea dogs and cats home" (and this is how we rescued our Millie Moo). I have gained qualifications in "dog behaviour and training" and worked with more than 100 dogs as behaviourist and carer for about 4 years. I'm currently studying canine hydrotherapy nutrition and rehabilitation, in order to have a holistic approach to their wellbeing and happiness. I offer Boarding training too, with the aim to guide the parent/carer to understand and bond better with their companion animal. These little steps I'm making are part of a bigger goal: my main purpose is to change the dog's role in our society. As long as we keep giving dogs just a pet-role, there will always be people considering them just as cute friends with a lot of energies that we need to control. We should, instead, give more importance to this therapeutic love! (Imagine we could flip our point of view, seeing as main 'what dogs give to us': how many therapies can you think of, which would be better and sweeter with a dog? How many jobs can dogs do better than humans, thanks to their skills? Or just how much do you feel better with a dog-friend looking at you and being there for you?) For ages the dog/owner relationship was based on dominance theory and even if now things are changed, we still have to improve this new idea of family -pack. The best way is educating people; we first have to educate people to what a dog really is, how does he really feel and interact and then we can work on and with the dog. When I train a dog, most of the time, the training is first of all for the owners. I try to teach the family to think how dogs think, to see with the pet's eyes. Did you know that shouting at your dog for toilet accidents, or for barking while socialising increase his frustration? He thinks you are blaming the act not the way he's done it. Having in care a dog is much more than just walk him or feed him. It's about observing, discussing and creating a stronger connection between the human and the dog. I offer Boarding (24hrs) Half Day-Care (4hrs) Full Day-Care (8hrs) Solo walk (1hr) Group Walk (1hr) Puppy Training (1hr) Boarding Training (From 2 weeks)

Super consigliata.
Booking Martina is like a treat for my dog! She absolutely loves hanging out with her and meeting lots of other dogs. Exercise and fun always promised .
Martina made me confident about leaving my young dog away from home for the first time. I think he had a great afternoon with her, and she wants to help with his socialisation and confidence. Will definitely use her again, and thanks Millie for being a tolerant mentor.
Martina has been an invaluable partner in caring for our elderly dog. Our Labrador will turn 15 this Dec 2018 and has canine nerve degeneration. He has been boarding with Martina for short and long stays for over a year now. Martina is incredibly empathetic and intuitive around dogs. Our dog is always in good spirit and gets just the amount of physical activity required to help him stave off the ravages of his condition when boarding with Martina. You can tell that she puts in a lot of effort to tailor the stay for dogs with special conditions. She is a true professional and I cannot recommend her enough.
