Pet care experience
We have had a great time taking care of dogs through Rover for more than four years. Dogs seem to love our calm, caring energy and 100% attention. What great fun we’ve had and such terrific reviews!

Marty and Robert were so welcoming and truly accommodated my senior pup and his needs. On my first visit, I felt Duskie was safe and left in good hands. They took fabulous photos and provided thoughtful updates. We’ll definitely be back again!
Martin and Robert have been watching Lucius since he was a puppy—for 3 years now. They’re one of the few people I trust with Lucius and are consistent, kind, professional and treat him just as their own. He always comes back clean and well taken care of. I’m so incredibly grateful for them and can always have a great time away knowing he is in excellent hands!
I was very hopeful about Martin and Robert. I used them once before for a few hours and decided to do the same for a longer daycare experience. My dog is a happy boy and was thrilled to be there of course, but when I picked him up I asked when the last time he went potty, and Robert said they forget to update the report card but my dog should be good. My instinct told me to take him potty immediately and, I was right. My dog REALLY had to go. A long pee and poop, which means he’d been holding it in for hours and uncomfortable. When we got home he drank so much water, super thirsty and was exhausted. I looked at the report card they provided and he only got 1 walk and 1 pee over a course of 7 hours! That was very disappointing. Also, the pictures they sent of him indoors shows him wearing his harness, which means they didn’t take it off for him to relax. He likely had it on the entire visit, which is restrictive and rubs against his skin. I’m planning a trip in April and decided to book their boarding services to give them another chance. My intention was to chat with them beforehand and share my feedback / expectations about my dogs care and to make sure we are on the same page. I visited their calendar to check their availability and it looked wide open in April. I submitted the request to book and a few minutes later I received a message declining my request saying they are taking a trip and forgot to update their calendar. The interesting thing is, this has happened before. They have repeated patterns of scheduling mistakes. I tired to book them in September and November and they said the same thing, “Sorry, we have another trip scheduled!” My experience and observation is that they don’t update their calendar and mislead pet parents showing open calendar availability, when it’s not true. Since this happened 3 times I don’t trust them and won’t use their services again, which is unfortunate. I shared my disappointment with them, and the response I got was “I understand your frustration. We will do better.” I honestly hope so. Just as quickly as you are booking all these trips, you can easily update your Rover calendar so you can better manage your business. Repeatedly canceling and declining clients creates a bad experience and thus impacts your reputation with current and potentially new clients.
So kind and loving with my dog and they sent the BEST pix of their day together. Now Louie has a new headshot! ?

Is your dog house trained? We recently replaced our carpet, so we prefer dogs that are well house trained. We typically block off carpeted areas until we see that dogs are acclimated to our home and routine. Does your dog get along with other dogs? We can seek out other dogs or avoid them. Is your dog good with kids? We occasionally take care of our nine-year-old niece. We’ll let you know if she’s going to be around.
A typical day
We’re in a condo that has a large, fenced grassy area in the back. We’re a just a short walk from the Upper Douglass Dog Play Area, the Walter Haas Dog Park and Christopher Field. We’re happy to throw a frisbee or a ball until your dog has had enough. If your dog loves longer walks, we love taking pups to Glen Canyon, Twin Peaks and Crissy Field.

I grew up with dogs in the country. Our dogs were always part of the family. While I’ve had cats as an adult, I never felt I had the time or space to have a dog full time. In recent years, my spouse and I noticed how many of our friends are reluctant to travel because they don’t have options for their pets. It saddened us to hear they’d drop them off at a kennel, and shocked us how much they had to pay for such a service. We’ve offered to take care of friends’ dogs when they’re away and discovered how much we enjoy spending time with a dog. Now that we both retired, we travel frequently, so we’re still reluctant to have a full-time pet, but we are in a great position to take care of yours from time to time. When we’re home, we’re 100% available for your dog.
