We have a locked privacy fenced in backyard that has plenty of room for small to medium sized dogs to get running laps at full speed. It's large enough to play fetch. We do not treat that grass with any chemicals that can be harmful to pets. During the warmer days, we take the temperature into account because our Boston Terriers' short snouts don't allow them to be out for too long, so the duration of outside time is shortened, and they just go out more frequently. Inside, our house stays neat and tidy. We do allow the pets on furniture, and our cat (very friendly) also has a place to climb and eat, out of the dog's reach. Our floors are hardwood (with rugs) and tile, and we keep doors closed so that the pets don't wander into rooms that we aren't in. The house is protected with an alarm system, and we have cameras around the outside of the home.
