Safe, loving home for you Fur Baby!

Pet care experience

I retired 4 years ago . I have loved animals my entire life. I would love to provide a safe, secure, loving, home for your fur baby! So about my furbabies, I have 3 total all rescued ! I have 2 cats Mia, she is almost a year old, a typical kitten and then there is Oreo, my boy is 1 year and 5 months old , he is definitely the shyer of the two. He stays to himself more and try’s to avoid my sweet and spoiled mixed Boxer/Spaniel 8 yr old puppy Gypsy. My girl would love to play with your puppy and keep him or her company, either during the day or over night. I will warn you, she is a bed hog, so if your puppy spends the night and is allowed to sleep on the bed (with your permission), he or she may have to sleep on the 1/4th of the bed with me, because that’s all I get! Your puppy may get walks around the court (by any number of loving children ) or the kempsville lake. Your Furbaby will get to play in the fenced backyard, I t’s not big, but the zoomies can happen back there. I can accommodate any specific eating time. My dog eats when we have to get/be up and at 5:00 PM for dinner. If your furbaby requires medication, I have no issues making sure they receive the proper treatment and care. I used to have a diabetic cat that required two shots a day of insulin, that I had to provide,so giving shot, pills and/or powder probiotic is not a problem. I also have some experience with special needs animals such as seizures and what to look for. Treats are given through out the day with your permission based on your fur babies dietary restrictions. I would ask that you bring your dogs specific food and treats. Also, any special dog toy and or blanket/bed, to make your fur babies visit or stay easier. I do have an extra medium sized crate/kennel and a small crate available for your dogs use. I also have 2 sets of pet steps for the more petite size dogs to help them onto the couch and onto the bed (if allowed). I am available for a visit before hand and I won’t except a dog without them, you can come see my house and have our dogs meet, to ensure they will get along (time permitting only for doggie day care for extreme cases- contact me and we will discuss). As I am a currently retired and broken vet (LOL), I have dr. appts, PT sessions, etc;… that I need to be at different times during the week. I’m never too far away to allow your dog out for a potty break or to give medication and will work my schedule to make sure your furbaby. If I am going to another’s furbabies home, I would be sure the house is secured, from the time I enter the home, to the time I leave. I will make sure your furbaby rather it’s a pup or kitty is well taken care. If medication is necessary, I can inject or orally give to your furbaby. I prefer to just have 1 furbaby (pup) at a time, but if the babies are from the same family I would take multiple babies. There are times when I have a baby and a regular furbaby needs to be sat and I know there will be no issues banded on previous experiences, I will reach out and discuss the situation with you. Every situation is different though and will be discussed. I will provide pictures and video. Please consider me for your furbaby needs

Marti is absolutely AMAZING inside and out! She is truly the dog whisperer and will treat your fur baby like her own! She is genuine and has the sweetest heart. I’m new to Rover and she made my process so easy. I’m so very lucky to have found her and my Sasha enjoys every day she is with her! She sends tons of pics throughout the day and keeps me updated. Couldn’t have found a better sitter!! Don’t hesitate to leave your fur babies with her!! You won’t be disappointed!

Marti did a wonderful job babysitting our puppy! She went the extra mile to ensure Hank was well taken care of. She sent lots of picture and videos which I really appreciated. Hank had such a wonderful time and was always so excited to go see her. I would absolutely recommend!!

I have a fenced in yard and a friendly dog to keep your dog company. I also have a small and large crate, if needed, for your convenience, as some dogs just need that space to feel safe and loved. Some dogs also needs some cuddles, some laps time, or just to know you are there to feel safe.

Home

Lives in a house
Has a fenced yard
Non-smoking household
Has 1 dog, 2 cats
No children present
Dogs allowed on bed
Dogs allowed on furniture
Potty breaks every 0-2 hours

Information Marti S. would like to know about your pet

I would like a meet and greets between your fur baby and mine, to make sure they are compatible. I would like to know they are up to date on vaccines, flea treatment and that they are house trained and do not mark in the house (I do have wrap for the male dogs, if marking is an issue).

A typical day

On a typical day, bathroom break is always first , then breakfast second (if they haven’t eaten yet)! Then relaxing time or possibly play time with the big basket of stuffed or hard rubber toys (unless they aren’t allowed). I throw the toys and most puppies bring them back or play keep away from me or the other puppy… sometimes the puppies play tug of war together! Later in the day there are walks around the lake or within my court (sometimes given and even fought over by the kids in my city,,, age appropriate). Sunbathing in the backyard for a few minutes here and there. Bathroom breaks as much as they want. Or depending on the dog, lots of play and/or napping…meals as required as well as medication.

Availability

I am currently retired, so I am mostly home ,with the exception of some PT sessions, dr. appointments and outing's. Since I have animals of my own adding another dog or cat is no issue. I just enjoy watching them play and wearing them selves out, or completely ignoring each other and doing their own thing. I like trying to figure out each puppies signals from their different personalities.
