I've grown up with cats and dogs, and currently have one cat of my own. I love dogs! I have experience using different types of collars, harnesses and gentle leaders. I have had dogs who are very social and dogs who are less, and am comfortable caring for both.

When housesitting, I try to keep as regular a home schedule for your pet as possible. This means keeping to your usual schedule of being at home/at work/out of the house as possible, as well as their usually walk/meal times. I stay attentive when in the home with your pet by not wearing earphones and making sure I'm aware of their whereabouts.

I will do my own research on any of these and come ready to ask you specific questions so that your dog is getting exactly the kind of care they need while you are away. I like to be aware of any social dynamics with your dog and other animals in the neighborhood so that when we are out walking, we are both prepared for those encounters.
A typical day
A typical day with your dog will look as much like their usual routine with you as possible. During our meet-and-greet, we can talk about routes your dog is used to taking, play activities that they enjoy, physical limitation they may experience, treats they like, food they can/can't have, etc. I love to walk and play fetch. I do not wear earbuds while I am walking your dog, so that my full attention can be on them.

Availability
I work part-time in the mornings, and am usually free in the afternoons and evenings. I do not work on the weekends and can be available anytime throughout the week.
