Pet care experience
I've had dogs my whole life. Growing up my family had three whippets; I recently had a German Shepherd named Balto, who I cared for for the last five years. I regularly take care of a Bernese Mountain dog, Gracie, who is turning 5 in August! I have volunteered at a pet shelter and in its vet clinic as well (SpokAnimal). I absolutely love all animals and just want the best for your pet(s)! I’m comfortable with all ages of dogs and can offer attention to puppy needs, providing medication, or helping your dog out with anything else. I recently started watching cats and love all their different quirks and personalities!

Marta was a life saver! She housed our 12 week old puppy for an entire week while also stopping by our house twice a day to check on our cats, get the mail, take the trash out, etc. I was nervous to leave our puppy but she made me feel at ease with her daily text updates and photos. It also helped to have her meet our pup a few times before we went away, that way he was familiar with her and she with him. I highly recommend Marta to take care of your furry babies!

I’m very comfortable walking dogs in neighborhoods around the greater Seattle area. I have cared for many reactive dogs and know when to spot an unpredictable situation so your dog has the most comfortable walk possible. I am also experienced in mental games with dogs and cats in case the weather doesn’t permit outside time.

I’d love to know any triggers or behavioral quirks that your dog has. Also any current medication or food needs. Learning their bathroom habits is also a huge help! Favorite places to “go” and general timing so to keep them on their schedule. I feel this is great to maintain their confidence and ease.
A typical day
I live in the Greenlake area and enjoy walking around the lake, rain or shine. During this time, I love incorporating some light training with my dogs to strengthen trust and recall. I love outdoor walks with dogs and can take them on lengthy adventures if that is what your pup needs!

Availability
I currently work full time at the Seattle Humane in Bellevue off of Eastgate Way. My hours are from 730-4, with Mondays working from home. I am also able to leave work at lunch to let dogs out if on the East Side. There is some wiggle room with leaving work early if the need is there - just let me know as soon as you can!
