Retrievers Retreat!
Pet care experience
I have had four golden retrievers in my lifetime. In 2018 we lost our golden/border collie, that my family loved dearly, after 15 years (kids are grown and gone, so it's just the wife and I here now). When one of our dog owning neighbors came by to offer condolences I asked her if it was OK for me to run with her black lab a couple of times a week, and the owner and dog and I all loved it! It was good therapy for me and scratched that dog itch so to speak. I got to spend quality time with a cool dog but didn’t have the dog food or vet bills to deal with. So from there I heard about rover.com, and it seemed like the next logical step. I’ve retired from my career that I have worked at for over 35 years....and have begun my retirement, interacting with new furry friends. UPDATE OCT 2020: After almost two years on Rover now I have a regular group of repeat clients. I have one great dog client that I run with on weekdays. So I’m unlikely to take on any new dog clients. But if you have a golden retriever by all means feel free to ask!
Reviews
We couldn’t ask for a better home away from home for our Cooper!
Mark is awesome! Our dog had a very great time in Mark’s family! We will definitely rebook Mark’s care! :)
Mark was awesome! He sent multiple picks and kept us updated throughout the day. Our boy really enjoyed his time.
Mark took care of our senior lady golden Osa for the MLK long weekend. He sent lots of pictures so we could see she was having a good time with her golden (more red) boarding mate on walks and in the snow. When we brought her home she was relaxed and calm. Would very much recommend Mark as a golden sitter!!!

Since we have my daughter's dog (who is very friendly) frequently stay with us for day care, we can't accept any dogs that have social anxiety issues around other dogs.
A typical day
We take the dogs for early morning walks and then another walk after dinner. Some high energy dogs get a mid-day walk too. We also have a huge doggie toy basket which usually keeps them entertained.

Availability
I work at a golf course two mornings a week, and am usually off by 2:00PM. I'm home the rest of the time, and my wife is usually around most mornings.
