Pet care experience
A 220-lb. St. Bernard helped me learn to walk. I guess he was training me so I could take him for walks later. Since then, I've raised numerous dogs from literally the day they were born, so I'm experienced with puppies, adults of any size, seniors, and a variety of special needs. I started caring for others' dogs over a decade ago as my living situation permitted. And since joining Rover in February 2023, I've provided a safe, fun place for dogs of all types and temperaments.
Reviews
Mark was great! My normal dog sitter had to cancel on short notice, and I was desperate. I had never done Ro er before, but quickly matched up with Mark. We did a meet & greet where he met the dogs, went over details (walks, prescriptions, general needs) and decided it was a good fit. He was really thorough, and asked lots of good questions while also prepping me. The visit went great. The dogs were happy, and Mark sent great updates along the way. That means a lot to me.
Agnes had a great time at Mark’s! I originally had her scheduled to stay a month prior but had a flight that was cancelled last minute. Mark was extremely gracious and flexible with rescheduling on such short notice. I always feel very comfortable leaving Agnes with Mark!
Mark is great. He’s among the most communicative dog sitters I’ve met providing a detailed rundown at the end of each day. Mark takes a very professional approach to dog sitting which was comforting especially with our senior dog. Can’t remind him enough.
Thank you for watching Tucker! He looked so happy in all the photos and obviously had a good time as he is sleeping soundly at home!

I ultimately try to re-create the schedule and house rules your pup already knows to make staying in a new place as comfortable and safe for them as possible. I live in a very pet-friendly apartment building with two fenced-in courtyards and a dog park half a block away. There's an elevator, so dogs with mobility problems don't have to worry about stairs. I currently don't have a dog of my own, but I usually have other dogs staying with me, so your pup should have plenty of new friends to play with. If all that sounds good, let's set up a time to meet you and your pup, preferrably at my place so you can check out the accommodations. Looking forward to meeting your pooch (and you).

Information Mark S. would like to know about your pet
I have an extensive list of questions concerning care needs, personality, and behaviors that I will go through with you during our meet & greet.
A typical day
I'll usually let your dog out 4 times a day with 1 or 2 of those being walks, depending on your dog's energy level. But this is easily adjustable for those, like puppies, who need to be let out more often.

Availability
I work from home, so your dog will have a day consistently filled with ear scratches, belly rubs, fetched balls, and bathroom breaks. If they're staying the night, they are welcome to curl up with me and my book and drift off to sleep by my side. And to help with this, I can get them good and tired beforehand with a long walk, some playtime, or both.
