I have had pets my whole life. I am 38 years old come from an animal loving household. I am always the "go to" when my friends need help with their animals. I currently have three dogs. My spouse and I had to say goodbye to our Italian Greyhound, Belli in July because she fought lymphoma for 1 1/2 years. Belli received chemo and radiation at the VCA in Fishers. We never gave up on her until she was ready to cross the rainbow bridge. Quality of life is everything, even though it is hard for us humans. She was a dog that we adored. We adopted Belli at 8 years old and she lived to 14. She also battled seizures. Our other dogs that we currently have are 16 (Rockford), 11 (Bella), and 11 months (Murphy). It has been a tough year with loosing Belli. Our 16 year old dog, Rockford was recently diagnosed with kidney failure. He was in Stage 4 at the end of August and is currently seeking treatment at VCA to reduced his kidney values. He is now in Stage 2! We are very hopeful he keeps improving! I administer skin fluids for him daily. Rockford has been my baby since I was 23 years old. I adopted him from the shelter and they estimated him to be 1-1/2 years old. We have so much love to give since we do not have human kids!
