My house, your dog's second home!

Pet care experience

I grew up on a farm and have always had animals in my life. As a Buddhist, I value all sentient beings and as a Peace Corps volunteer in the Dominican Republic, I worked to help the dogs and cats who lived on the streets. I have experience with animals in every stage of life, from potty training puppies and kittens through caring for the special needs of senior dogs and cats. I can administer medication using pill pockets. My beloved dog Midge, who I rescued from the streets of the Dominican Republic, recently passed away after having been part of my family for fifteen years. Because of personal circumstances I am unable to have a dog of my own right now, but I would like to provide your dog with love and attention while you are away.

This was our first dog sitting experience with Rover.com and Marita was fantastic!!!! She kept us up to date with every aspect of our German Shepherd's care & activities. He can get anxious with our absence but Marita was incredible in reading this and responding with walks and attention. We were amazed with the attention she gave our GS and her attention to detail. We will definitely ask Marita to dog sit for us again!

Marita was wonderful with our cat, Luna. We went on a 10 day trip and Marita was very attentive to Luna's needs. Luna takes some time to warm up to people but we received daily picture updates which showed their relationship forming over the two weeks that we were gone. By the end of the visits, they were close friends. We also received updates on her feeding and bathroom routine. Marita is excellent and I would recommend her to anyone. We will definitely be booking her again when we go out of town.

Marita has taken wonderful care of our pets over the years. We have had 5 dogs in the last 8 years that she has watched diligently. Some dogs were older and needed special attention, and now we have a puppy that she has helped us be able to get some stuff done while she kept and entertained our little Ellie. Marita has a deep love and respect for animals and it shows in her care of my pets.
