Pet care experience
I've had a dog all my life - they're the best companions! I grew up with a rescue named Ranger and more recently my parents have adopted a Basenji mix named Rocky (I get to see him whenever I visit for holidays!). Ever since I can remember, I've been around animals, and when I was growing up I thought I'd be a vet (although later I learned science and math are not my strongest points... currently I'm working as a graphic designer). I'm also familiar with pet-sitting and house-sitting; I've done it quite a few times for neighbors, friends, and more recently Rover clients. I'm currently living in an apartment that doesn't allow pets and Rover seemed like the perfect way to spend some quality time with furry friends!

Marissa seemed nice and good with dogs but ultimately bailed on the commitment two days in due to a personal decision. Forcing me to miss a conference & meetings that took months of planning. She gave less than 24 hours notification she was leaving but did seem to take care of my pup and sent photos while she was here. I respect her personal choice but in my view if you agree to take care of someone’s home and loved ones while they’re 500 miles away, you honor that commitment. I’m very disappointed and as such, would not recommend Marissa.
Marissa is the best! Not only is she a trusted friend, she's very responsible and great with pets. I wish I still lived in the same city as Marissa because I would pay the big bucks to have her take care of my pup, Dickens. You'll have nothing to worry about leaving your furry family members in her hands.
Growing up, Marissa would always take charge when it came to our dogs. She was on top of the food and walk schedules, and would personally see that they were done well. She loved the animals unconditionally and unequivocally.
Marissa is a loving and caring dog person. She has taken care of my beautiful black lab Gilgamesh since he was a puppy! She has a natural talent with pets!

I will always clean up after myself and only use what I've been given permission to (i.e. TV streaming, snacks, certain rooms of the house, etc). I understand house-sitting is an exercise in trust and I am eager to exceed your expectations!

Let me know if your pet has any quirks I should know about. I am comfortable administering oral medication if you give me a tutorial so I can ensure I do it in a way that is comfortable and familiar to your pet.
A typical day
If you have a fenced yard and are comfortable with an outside game of fetch, I'd love to do that! If your house doesn't have an outdoor space, we'll go for walks exploring all the neighborhood's smells and sights. If your pet is elderly, I understand the physical stimulation might take a backseat to cuddles, hugs, and pets. I can adapt my care for what best suits your pet.
