Availability
I'm currently working part time, and able to take in drop-in visits with fairly short notice. I'm also training for a 10k, so having a four-pawed running buddy would make my runs even better!

Safety, trust & environment
While I don't offer in-home services, understanding your dogs "vibe" is incredibly important. I know how to take cues from their energy and build up our relationship from there.
Information Marissa S. would like to know about your pet
Let me know if you've got a big big dog - they've got a special place in my heart! If your dog is best suited to a calm introduction so they can check me out first, let me know; if your dog is one that has never met a stranger, let me know that too!
A typical day
Prepping chew toys, making sure the puzzle games are ready to go, and hand feeding can be super helpful for dogs who have high mental stimulation needs - but nothing beats a good walk and sniff... or run! If you've got a high energy dog, I'd love to take them with me while I get a few miles under my belt as well.

Helping you, helping me!
Pet care experience
Hi, I'm Marissa - I love dogs of all shapes and sizes, but especially the big goofy ones (I recently lost my Great Dane to cardiomyopathy). Further, if your border collie needs a running buddy, I'm your person! Helping get dogs physically and mentally fulfilled so they can be their best selves is something I've spent years researching and learning about. I can't wait to meet your pup!

Reviews

Marissa was super attentive and responsive to Valerie's needs (springer spaniel puppy). My husband commented that she was confident and in charge, but super nice and connected with our pup right away. Marissa was very responsive -- I had to book sort of last minute, and she responded right away and took on three walks. She was easy to converse with/contact through the Rover platform.
Marissa had been both organized and flexible and is immediately responsive in communications. She is very confident with large dogs. Her creative daily photograph shows she cares about my dog as an individual.
With a heart of gold and a love for treating fur babies like family, Marissa is exactly the kind of person you want looking after your dog! Her enthusiasm for animals is absolutely infectious, matched only by her reliability and attentiveness. I've seen firsthand how gentle and playful Marissa is, always prioritizing a pet's comfort and happiness. She understands that leaving your pet with someone requires immense trust, and they take that responsibility seriously, ensuring safety and providing plenty of cuddles and fun. If you're seeking peace of mind and a truly joyful experience for your pup, look no further than Marissa!
