Dedicated Dog Lover & Pet Parent

Pet care experience

My name is Marissa and I am a pet parent to an amazing dog Dobby, an English Bull Terrier (a rescue!). I have over 15 years of pet care experience and even have volunteer experience at a few animal shelters. During my time with the animal shelters, I trained in a few different walking classes and received certifications to walk the hardest to train dogs. I have been a foster pet parent to over 15 dogs, ranging from litters of puppies at a time to seniors and everything in between! I’ve even had one foster failure, my dog Dobby! I fostered him when he was in bad health as a puppy and couldn’t let him go. I officially adopted him 3 years ago and I couldn’t imagine my life without him. Growing up, my family trained hunting dogs so I know a thing or two about keeping dogs happy, healthy and engaged. I’m looking forward to meeting you and your pets!

Marissa was an outstanding dog sitter. Our dog settled in like it was her 2nd home. Our dog got along great with her dog. I would highly recommend her. She reached out to us to let us know how well our dog was doing.

Marissa has been amazing! She sends updates about her walks is super accommodating and always makes sure my dog has whatever he needs before she leaves him after a walk! She is so sweet and my dog loves her! I have a larger strong dog and I love that I am able to trust her to walk him safely without an issue!

Safety, trust & environment

I have a huge fenced in yard. Typically, dogs would be let out in the yard in the morning for 20-25 minutes to run and stretch their legs. Before lunch they are free to roam the house and yard (always supervised while in the yard) and during lunch I typically would walk around the neighborhood (about a mile or so) to get some fresh air and sniffs in. After that, they are free to roam the house/yard and play or sleep.

Information Marissa S. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know if you or your dog have any special preferences. I am happy to accommodate any special needs your pet might have to make their time with me enjoyable and worthwhile.

A typical day

Aside from walking, challenging a high energy dog mentally is the key to good behavior. I’ve learned through my own dog training that a tired dog is a good dog. On walks, I enjoy taking them to new places, letting them sniff out scents they haven’t smelled before, walking by the water and rewarding good behavior.
