Pet care experience
I’ve been a dog owner my whole life and a dog trainer for the past 6 (working primarily with service dogs and working breeds). I also have experience working in dog daycare and boarding and regularly volunteer at Your Dog’s Friend, a local nonprofit focused on building a positive relationship between owners and their dogs. My love of dogs has lead me to pursue credentials for both postive dog training and canine fitness as well as regularly studying the latest studies on canine behavior/communication and overall health/wellness. I keep my pet cpr and first aid knowledge/skills current as well. Making sure every dog I encounter feels happy and safe is my goal in life. I am available most days of the week including some holidays and can’t wait to get to know you and your furkid(s).
Reviews
Marissa has been great with my dog. She is able to give him his medication along with walking and providing a good status of how the walk went.
We’re so glad we found Marissa. Lola is hesitant to meet new people but she was quick to trust Marissa. We look forward to more walks and building Lola’s confidence, and we’re grateful we have Marissa’s guidance and help.
Marissa is wonderful and has walked my pup 3 times now and she absolutely loves her! Marissa is very responsive and very flexible even to accommodate last minute and same day bookings and I am forever grateful! Please consider Marissa when looking for someone to watch your furry kids. She is reliable and so helpful!
Really appreciated Marissa coming out to walk my pup!

Information Marissa M. would like to know about your pet
I love to hear about what type of training they’ve had so far and what types of activities they enjoy. Do they have a favorite tree to pee on or a favorite street to sniff down? Do they like treats/have a favorite kind? How are they around other dogs? Do they like to say hi to strangers or would they rather a quiet leisurely stroll through the park? Are they crate trained? How do they handle being left alone for any length of time? I’ve worked with a number of breeds over the years and while I love them all I must admit I have a weakness for Doodles and bully breeds.
A typical day
Walks around the neighborhood or along nature trails, can include basic obedience and recall practice. Flirt poles, chuckit balls, and kong jumblers or any of their favorite toys can be made available. A friendly and extra playful 7yr Australian Cobberdog (also known as Australian Labradoodles) may even be available for play dates should they all get along. Having fun and staying safe are my top priorities so all activities will be geared towards things your dog is comfortable with and fully enjoys.
