Your fur baby's vacation home!

Pet care experience

Hi my name is Marisol! I have over 20 years of experience caring for, as well as giving love and attention to dogs. I genuinely adore dogs, and I can definitely relate to not being able to work/travel with our fur babies but still wanting them to have the best time possible while we’re away. As a doggie-sitter/boarder, I want to treat your pup as if they were my own baby and ensure they have the best experience! I am excited to continue offering my services on Rover and would love for your pup to call my home their vacation home while they’re away from their paw parents. I recently lost my beloved 14 year old rescue pup named Twinkie in Dec 2023. He was (and continues being) the absolute light of my life. He was a bichon poodle with separation anxiety who spent his days following me around, lounging on the couch, or snuggling up with me in bed. My heart would break every time I would have to leave him with a stranger because he required a little more attention than the average pup—he couldn’t be left alone for too long, would eat homemade meals, and required frequent potty breaks due to his age. Although my sweet Twinkie has crossed the rainbow bridge, I want to continue remembering the beautiful legacy that he left behind— he’s the reason I began my journey on Rover. I am here to help those who need someone who fully understands their pup’s needs and will provide them with an abundance of patience and love. Twinkie taught me so many lessons in life— three of the most valuable ones being: learning how to give unconditional love, a profound appreciation for life, and finding the most pleasure in the simple things in life (like snuggling on the couch/bed and eating a little treat whenever our hearts ask for one). My heart still has so much love to give, and I’ll continue having my doors open to any pups that need a little extra love while they’re in my care. ———————————————— UPDATE 2024: I am so happy to share that I recently rescued a little fur angel named Milo! He’s a 6 month old bichon frisé who has brought so much joy, love, and fun back into my home. Milo loves all humans and other doggies (he spent time socializing with other pups in his foster home and now through Rover)— he’s a total social butterfly! We’re still working on teaching him boundaries with older dogs, but overall he’s a very fast learner and picks up on cue’s given by other doggies— he gets VERY excited when meeting new friends but once the excitement subsides he’s respectful of the other pup’s space. Milo recently graduated “puppy school” and since graduating, we’ve been practicing polite greetings and basic commands. I’m very mindful of the fact that having a puppy around may be too overwhelming for some doggies (understandably this can vary depending on personality and age). I hope that I can provide some reassurance by mentioning that creating an environment in my home where your pup feels happy, safe, loved, and relaxed is one of my top priorities. Playtime and all other interactions are always supervised. I also focus on reading signs and signals that pups give. If your pup needs a small break from Milo, I can definitely accommodate this need (Milo loves his individual playtime in his pen). As before, my home is always open for any pup that requires a little extra pampering (no request is too big or small)! I love spoiling all of the little fur babies that come into my home! Milo is eager to make some new friends on Rover! We can’t wait to meet you and your precious fur babies (or see you again for all my returning clients)!

Polly had an amazing time at daycare today! It was such a delight to see the videos of her playing with Milo, and photos of her enjoying time sun bathing and relaxing with treats throughout the day. I feel so reassured when she’s with Marisol because I know she’s being well taken care of. Thank you Marisol and Milo for another great daycare experience 🩷

Polly had a great time at day care with Marisol and Milo! It was such a pleasure to know she was having a wonderful and enriching day, playing and walking, while I was at work. Marisol sent updates of their play and naps throughout the day. Polly can’t wait to come again!

Marisol is truly an angel! This was the first time leaving my little one with anyone outside of my family or my home, and to say I was nervous is an understatement. She was so kind and patient (with bot of us!), and made the entire experience easier. I received multiple updates while I was away and she was a wonderful communicator. We will definitely be booking with her again!

Marisol is AMAZING! We loved the attention she gave to our lovely Simba. He enjoyed every minute and so much fun playing with Twinkie. Her high communication is remarkable and keeps those memories flowing with pics-thank you! I would highly recommend Marisol and trust your furry friend will be well taken care off.

Safety, trust & environment

I live in a house with a large fenced backyard (in the process of making some repairs). When we go outside, I usually set up a large play pen (for smaller guests) to provide a second barrier of safety. Your pup will never be left unsupervised outside. They will be free to share the entire house with us as well. While I love dogs of all sizes from XS to XXL, I am only able to accommodate smaller guests. At this time, I will only be offering daycare sitting and boarding to one pet at a time in my home to ensure that your baby has my full attention. In the rare event that for some reason your baby’s stay will overlap with another stay, I’ll let you know and make sure it’s okay with you first. Additionally, please note that I do accept puppies (1 year or younger), but small dog breeds only. I am looking forward to meeting you and your fur babies! Thank you, hope to hear from you soon!

A typical day

A typical day in my home while doggie-sitting looks like this... We wake up between 7-8 am, and sleep by 10-11 pm. I let the pups out to the yard for potty as soon as we wake up, and then take our first walk around 9 am. Breakfast time is a little after the walk. If the weather permits, later in the afternoon, we will go out for another walk, and then dinner time after. Based on your pup's energy, we can go on a longer or shorter walk around the neighborhood. Right before bedtime, I let the doggies out to the yard for another potty round. Throughout the day, the dogs roam around the house freely as I am in the kitchen or living room. We will take stretch breaks in our deck and yard periodically. On the weekends, we love taking the doggies for walks at a nearby park and car rides to get a pup-cup treat (whipped cream)! In the evening, we typically relax and watch TV in the living room with the doggies. We'll also spend some time playing with dog toys. In between all the fun, we'll also make sure to squeeze in as many cuddles and belly rubs as possible!
