Pet care experience
I have been pet-sitting for friends and neighbors for the past five years in addition to caring for my own dogs. Many of these creatures have become senior animals in the recent years, so I am attentive to the needs and comfort of such distinguished (and usually particularly sensitive) pets. I have experience working with both dogs and cats who need additional attention after medical care or while adjusting to new environments.

I think pets need to be treated with extra compassion when faced with the stress of being without their people or in unfamiliar situations. While I am eager to befriend your pets and love to play with creatures who are enthusiastic about new people, I know that many animals (especially seniors) are very discerning and require extra care to develop trust. Respecting an animal's space, body language, and routine is crucial to a happy pet. When I petsit, I like to make myself available for the pets to play, be adored, or coexist with.

A typical day
A typical day for a dog I look after would include at least two walks with plenty of time to sniff around and get an appropriate amount of exercise. I enjoy throwing the ball for a pup (or chasing around a dog who would rather play).

I currently have a very flexible schedule as I am working remotely with part-time hours that I dictate. Your pets needs and routines will shape my schedule. I enjoy walks and exploring by foot, so I am happy to care for a highly active dog!
