Attentive and loving animal care

Pet care experience

I’ve had pets my entire life and for years I’ve cared for others in addition to my own. I began my pet care career with part time boarding and dog walking around the neighborhood. Since 2018 I’ve specialized in full time boarding and daycare, while also offering some grooming, training, transportation and special event services. I have experience with dogs of all ages, including puppies who need continued training, and senior pups who need some extra TLC. Every pet I care for is always given endless patience, attention and tailored care; most of all I love each of them like my own! Your pet will enjoy all the comforts of home while you’re away, including naps on the couch, special treats, one on one attention and more! Any specific requests? Just ask! I have beds, bowls, blankets, toys and anything else your pet needs for a happy vacation or day of daycare, all you have to bring is their food! My yard is fenced in and when your dog is let outside they’re always supervised. While outside, the dogs enjoy playing fetch, running around together, playing games and so much more! Additional services: *Grooming- Take home a clean pup! Baths and nail trims are available for most dogs *Pick up & Drop off- I will pick up and/or drop off your pet(s) for their boarding or daycare visits. Pricing varies depending on distance. *Other Transportation- I will pick up and/or drop off your pet(s) to bring them to and/or from a specified location. This service is primarily used for grooming or vet appointments, but can be used for other transportation needs. Pricing varies depending on distance. *Special events- If you’re looking to have your pet at your wedding or other special day, I can provide transportation to and from, as well as pet handling throughout the event. This can be combined with other services, such as boarding, so your pet is taken care of before and after their big appearance. Pricing varies depending on services needed.

Another excellent stay with Marisa- the best of the best. As usual Winnie jumped into Marisa’s arms and didn’t look back!

Safety, trust & environment

General safety for boarding: Dogs from different households are never left unattended during the stay. While the dogs eat and sleep they’re always separated. We’re able to crate dogs overnight, for feeding, training, etc. and we provide XXL crates for each of our guests who need them so you don’t have to bring yours! Outside safety for boarding and daycare: I have a fenced yard and dogs are always supervised while outside. Leashes can be used as an extra safety precaution while outside (great for dogs who eat things off of the ground, or even “escape artists”). In warmer months, a sprinkler and/or kiddie pool are set up to help water-loving pups cool off. When it snows, a path and bathroom area are shoveled for dogs who don’t enjoy the snow. In any extreme heat/cold, the dogs are only let out for a short bathroom break. *We do not offer leash walks* *Introductions: When dogs are first introduced, they’re separated for safety. Introductions are always supervised and done at your dogs pace for their comfortability. *Meet & greets: For many dogs, people coming and going can be stressful and confusing, especially when they’re already away from their homes. In addition, to welcome you and your pup inside for a meet and greet, the guests who are already here must be tucked away in their rooms or crates; this is not a part of their normal routine and creates additional stress and confusion. These issues and others make meet and greets difficult and therefore we don’t schedule them, instead a trial day/night gives your dog time to acclimate and doesn’t interrupt current guests as much. *Stress-Free entry/exit: When dogs are coming and going, other guests are tucked away in their rooms or crates. To limit the time they spend confined, all pick ups and drop offs must be scheduled and followed. If you cannot make it here at the scheduled time, please call or text as soon as possible to reschedule. Owners are not invited inside to prevent unnecessary stress & confusion for incoming and current guests.

Information Marisa R. would like to know about your pet

Has your dog been boarded before? If so: Was it a home or a facility? How did your dog adjust to the environment there? Is there anything you wish was done differently there? Has your dog ever shown aggression for any reason? Does your dog guard food, toys, beds, etc? Does your dog ever show signs of separation anxiety when alone (barking, whining, pacing, panting, etc.)? Can your dog socialize comfortably and appropriately with dogs of different sizes and ages? Does your dog have any medical conditions and/or special care requirements? Where does your dog usually sleep? Is your dog crate trained? Is your dog up to date on vaccinations?

A typical day

Everyone is let outside in the morning to go to the bathroom, then brought back inside to start breakfast. The dogs are let back out in the yard multiple times a day for bathroom and play breaks. We play fetch, tug of war, chase and other games outside. Some dogs go out with friends and some dogs prefer to go outside on their own. When it’s time for your dog to eat or sleep they’ll be separated from other guests so everyone eats and sleeps comfortably. Crates will be provided for any dog who needs one, so you don’t have to bring yours from home. We also provide beds, blankets, toys, and bowls.
