Hi! I'm Marisa, I'm 32, and I'm originally from Marine Park, Brooklyn, and now live in Bergen Beach. Animals are my people - just ask my my dog (Shorty) and cats (Monster & Ty)! In addition to the pets I've always had, I volunteer with dog rescues and pet foster groups, including doing transport of rescues. I have been around dogs as well as all other types of animals my entire life and understand the care and attention they require. Pet-related hobbies of mine include: -making healthy pet treats -taking dog-friendly roadtrips (Shorty has been all over!) -building/creating space-saving pet furniture, crates, and storage. I've cared for all types of animals - healthy, sick, special needs, mellow, hyper, young, old, and everything in between. I would love to spend time with your dog (or cats)! Whether you'd like me to take your dog(s) for a walk or hang out with them in the comfort of their own home, I'd be happy to treat them like my own. Your dog(s) will always have my undivided attention - I'll leave Shorty at home so I can give my full attention to your furry babies! If you request a home visit, I'd be more than happy to bring in your mail, scoop the litter, clean and refill the water bowls, or water your plants; just let me know. I love to go hiking and have a car equipped with travel bowls, a backseat hammock, pet first aid kit, and dog safety restraints/seat belt attachments. Let me know if your pup wants to be my new hiking buddy! I'm great with laid-back older dogs who just want a treat and belly rub, energetic young pooches who need a lot of attention, and any other temperament. From walking them to snuggling them, keeping them (or you) company at the vet, spoiling them with treats to protecting them, I'm here for your furry family members. Whether it's checking in on the kitties and making sure they've got clean water and catnip, hanging with Fido on July 4th to distract him from the fireworks, or taking Fifi for a nice, long stroll while you're out to dinner, I've got you covered. Marisa loves dog is animals so much and it shows! Tequila knows when she's at the door to pick her up and is always excited and ready for her walk. I know I can trust her to make sure she's thoroughly walked and she gives me feedback and advice on any behavioral changes.
Marisa is one of those people who lives and breathes for animals. She has two cats and a large dog and has helped with foster and rescue dogs. She has experiences with various temperaments. She can read both Cat and dog body language well and truly is passionate about pets. There are few people I would trust my own dogs wirh and Marisa is one of the few people I would trust.

Marisa is one of the most animal loving people I've ever known with an amazing personality. She's gone out of her way to rescue pitbulls, hours away in other states and rescuing even one of her own, Shorty. She's compassionate about what she does and she would make an awesome dog walker.

While inside, they'll get all the tummy rubs and ear scratches they could ever want. I'm also able to bring in mail, scoop litter, give certain meds, play calming music, or anything else that'll help!

I have no breed preferences at all - if it's a pooch, I'll love it! Please let me know if your dog has any allergies (I've been known to spoil dogs with treats and want to make sure they're safe for your dog if allowed at all). Also, please let me know if they're leash-reactive (I've got a special leash), dog/kid/people-friendly (so I know whether I need to avoid more crowded areas). All dogs have different personalities and preferences and I'm here to accommodate each and every type!
A typical day
As a pup person, I'm just happy to spend time with your dog, so the activities are entirely up to you. We can map the route and length of the walk based on your comfort, or I can curl up with them on the floor and play with toys if they need some company while you're out!
